High ceilings in this traditional stone-built house give rooms a light, spacious feel. Beds are adorned in Egyptian cotton linen and there are also TVs and free Wi-Fi in rooms. The room is beautiful and the bed is wide and super comfortable. I checked in quite late, and sent the message earlier so the landlord kindly manage to sent the instruction on how to find my room key which I found it very helpful. The room amenities also quite generous with tea and coffee collections and chocolate drinks. Thanks a lot 👍🏽

String of Horses lies in the middle of one of the most beautiful and historic areas of Britain: near Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District and the Scottish borders. The staff, atmosphere and location. The restaurant was also exceptional.

The property's dining room mixes traditional and modern dishes based on locally sourced products. Dishes feature Cumbrian game and locally caught fish.

The bar has an open fire, and the lounge has a warming fire and stunning views through the picture windows. Very clean and comfortable. We also took one if the recommended walks.

Benefits also include an en suite bathroom, designer toiletries, and a hospitality tray with fresh coffee milk, teas, and biscuits. Wonderfully quirky little B and B. A very comfortable room with enough bedroom space. Loved the claw bath, this was in the bedroom, I loved this but some may not. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This little place was the perfect walking distance to Bowness for restaurants and Windermere for shopping.

The family were so friendly and helpful. It was so peaceful and the views were beautiful. The hot tub as well as the pod was spotless, plus you had towels for the bathroom and separate ones for the hot tub.

Our apartment was well-stocked, spacious and clean, with an amazingly comfortable bed and fantastic shower. The location is great for walking, and parking was really easy. We really felt like it was our home from home for those few days. Will definitely be returning.
