The history of the riad and its construction was so interesting and eye-opening on the beauty and the details one can find on Moroccan craftsmanship. I have experienced a lot of high end hotels and normally never write reviews. This hotel deserves one. If you are looking for a traditional Morocco style hotel, it’s exceptional. Beautiful and incredibly detailed traditional work throughout and located in the heart of the old city. Don’t be put off by the hustle and bustle of the alleyways getting there, it’s an oasis of calm when you are inside. Everything is to a high end Western standard. Give it a go, I doubt you will be disappointed.

We had the luck and honour to stay for 2 nights in the sublime private riad in the Palais de Fes. The setting is incredibly authentic, the staff is superfriendly, they really make you feel at home together with providing an excellent service. The location is superb at the entrance of the medina, with impressive views over the city. On all criteria this hotel is excellent and that s the first time I give a global 10 on 10! Bravo to the whole team working there and the family behind.

Zaidi Samir, the manager, made sure we were well take care of for our entire (albeit brief!) stay. He reached out before our arrival and helped us arrange for a seamless arrival to the riad. Upon arrival, Samir received us with the utmost hospitality and accommodation - even though we were on a very tight timeline as we had an appointment for soon after our check in! Seeing how short our stay was, he offered to help set us up with a guide for the next day and transport to the train station for our departure. Everything was as Samir promised - our guide, Mohammed, was everything we could’ve hoped for. Prompt, informative, warm & ever the professional - we learned so much from him in just one morning, and wish we had more time. The breakfast was freshly made and delicious. The view of the courtyard pool alongside the decadent traditional furnishings made for a luxurious morning experience For first-time visitors, it’s helpful to note that you’ll need to be let in for entry to the riad. It made our stay feel much more secure.
