We loved our stay at Hotel Wood Takayama and it would be a dream to return one day!. The room was peaceful and relaxing. The breakfasts arrived like a boxed present, so gorgeous. We couldn’t get over the free sake, beer and drinks during the evenings, amazing! The location is the best, a family mart is nearby and it’s within walking distance of everything that the old town has to offer, shops and dining. I hope we can return one day.

Spacious room, everything was well arranged and organised. Staff was helpful and professional, and provided all necessary information we needed to know about. And the guidebook in the room showed info about how to travel around the area. And there is a laundry room and we could pay to wash and dry (p.s. very reasonable prices). On-site free parking is a plus too!!

The rural setting, in a very old house, was fantastic, the quiet and darkness were great. I enjoyed the chance to milk a goat again! The hot bath was relaxing at the end of the day. I was also given the choice of breakfast, a dinner on my last night and a snack to send me on my way. Thank you.

Chitose san is really the highlight of this beautiful property! She's very kind and helpful and always cheerful. She gave us some really great recommendations. The property is typically Japanese yet luxurious. It has very thoughtful little touches and great coffee (Nespresso)! While some folks have commented the breakfast is ok, I thought it was quite nice. It's not lavish but its a nicely assembled bento.
