If you want the romance of a traditional courtyard with true boutique-hotel comfort, stay here. The property is brand-new, immaculate, and beautifully lit at night. Rooms are quiet and minimalist with great water pressure, reliable fast Wi-Fi, plenty of bedside outlets, and strong AC/heat. The bed and linens meet Western comfort standards. Breakfast can be chosen Chinese or Western—I tried both during my stay and each was fresh, well-presented, and generous (fresh juice and good coffee/tea included). Staff were proactive and friendly, arranged luggage pickup from the city gate, and communicated smoothly in English. The location is perfect for walking the lanes yet peaceful once inside the courtyard. Tips for Western travelers: cars can’t enter the old town, so message the hotel for pickup; wear comfortable shoes; and leave time to simply enjoy the courtyard—part heritage museum, part modern gallery. A flawless stay.

I really made the right choice with this homestay in Pingyao! The location is absolutely a hidden gem—just a two-minute walk gets you to Rishengchang Bank, so there’s no need to get up early to soak in the Jin merchant culture. It’s super convenient to head back for a break after visiting the attractions. What’s more, the surrounding area is bustling with life. When you stroll out in the evening, the lanterns light up, and old shops and street food stalls are right in front of you, full of that lively, authentic vibe. No need to hunt for places to eat; just step into any spot, and it’s sure to be delicious. The biggest surprise, though, is the service here—they truly take care of every little detail. When I checked in, the owner warmly introduced local attractions, even telling me which shop has the most authentic Pingyao beef and the best time to visit Rishengchang to avoid crowds. That kind of thoughtful care makes the whole trip feel so warm. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Pingyao. Great location, amazing atmosphere, and service that’s second to none—highly recommended!

We had a truly enjoyable experience at this hotel. The property is new, beautifully designed, and tastefully decorated — every detail reflects a refined sense of style. Despite being in a different country, we immediately felt at home thanks to the warm and thoughtful atmosphere. One of the highlights was the excellent breakfast, freshly prepared on the spot every morning — a rare treat that made a real difference. The hotel is located in the northern part of the city, which is ideal for visiting Pingyao and exploring the area comfortably. A special mention goes to the hotel manager, who welcomed us with delicious local snacks waiting in our room — a kind gesture that added a personal touch to our stay. In short, everything exceeded expectations. If you’re planning a visit to this area, this hotel is an excellent choice. Super recommended

We have never slept in a higher quality bedding! The receptionist is extremely helpful. She even helped with train and attractions booking for other locations. The courtyard is cozy, and there are tables and chairs for hanging out.
