Every evening there was a full turn down service so that your tent was warm and cosy and heating, including electric blankets supplied. Our stay was in August so chilly at night. Our tent was in front of the river and every evening we lit a fire and gazed at the stunning night sky. An absolutely clear sky and we could switch off the main light switch to facilitate this. Though remote we had excellent wifi facilities. The staff were superb hosts and made sure every expectation of our stay was met and more. When we received our joining instructions and realised our little car would struggle with the road to Mbizane, a member of staff gave us secure parking at her home and took us to the site with all our luggage. We really appreciated this as the road is challenging. However, with the option to get a lift on a 4x4 vehicle this was no longer a problem.

All the staff and the manager were so welcoming, kind, and professional. We joined their safari, did a guided walk in the park, and had relaxing massages, everything was amazing! Our room was spotless and beautifully designed, and all the food was delicious. We truly enjoyed every moment here and highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Kruger!

The property is wonderfully situated next to the river and animals can be seen at all times of the day from the common area or your balcony. The game drives were absolutely amazing. We got the big 5 and so much more! Staff are lovely and guides knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Umkumbe Riverside Lodge! Best Christmas morning of my 59 years.

The owner Barrie was interacting with everyone to make sure everyone is okay.
