We had total privacy, the lodge was large with a garden overlooking the river, with a large covered terrace and outside seating.It was well equipped and had all we needed. The decorations were of high quality and we felt spoilt and relaxed. There was a swimming pool a short walk away. The gardens were mature and full of flowers. A little oasis to relax and feel cool.

Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport is 54 km from the property, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. The tent was very comfortable. Being in the middle of nature was a huge plus. We regularly saw the jiraffes and we were lucky enough to see a cheetah hunting an antílope on our way to breakfast (from our car, stay inside! ;) ). It was an amazing experience. The personal was also very helpful and kind and made our stay and way there and back safer and more enjoyable.

They pampered us with welcome drinks, flowers in the room, and delicious dishes. The game drive was perfect—we managed to see the Big Five and much more, with lots of interesting explanations and stories. The colonial-style rooms made it feel like stepping into another era. Everything was perfect. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

The last 3,5km from the entrance gate to the lodge are pretty adventurous, but once you are there, you will enjoy stunning views of the dam and green hills. We enjoyed the tranquility - a perfect place, if you just want to relax. You can order food, which they bring to your place. But we decided for self catering, as the kitchen is fully equipped (from stove to microwave and fridge). WiFi was good and we loved the terrace for the views! Driving to the gate in the mornings we saw some antilopes, many warthogs and a herd of buffalos.

Port Elizabeth is 35 km from Charihandra Game Lodge, whereas Addo is 19.4 km away. Chrihandra has suffered damage from the strong winds and relocated me to a partner property. They were extremely attentive and covered my expenses in the other place which was equally good and equipped! I look forward to stay at Charihandra in the future!
