The pet-friendly lodge offers a barbecue. We really enjoyed our time at Tugela River Lodge. There’s so many things to do within the property like kayak, mountain bike, trails, and little farm area. It’s very clean and the staff and owner are super friendly and always willing to assist. The farm stall has a lot of supplies, so if you forget anything you wouldn’t even need to drive out. Very pet friendly as well - everything we could do with our little mini dachshund. She loved her time there and the fenced off area is big and safe. The wood-fired tub is an amazing way to wind down. The view is amazing and Bheki always comes to help fire it up ahead of time. All in all a fantastic experience as a couple, and I’m sure it’d be lovely for a family and friends group too!

Guests can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and nature reserves. The scenery is really something else. You are already quite remote in this part of ZA but once they bring you up with the 4x4 the only people you will encounter are those on the premise itself. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. All in all great value and a very relaxing place with great views and hikes!

There are bicycles available for guests to rent, and guests can relax in the garden. Location was excellent .Staff were amazing .Food was excellent

Staff are very hospitable, especially Silindile, Nonto, and Sabelo. Lakeside view is exceptional. The warm jacuzzi after my first mountain hike was a treat!

Elegantly decorated, accommodation at Winterton includes a TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. Some come with a kitchen or kitchenette, while others have a spa bath. The accommodation was amazing, comfy, cosy, lovely décor. Everything was provided for us. My brother's accommodation was perfect for him too. It was lovely to have the choice of either sitting out in the swing chair at our place, sitting up for a meal under shelter together. Or popping around to my brother's cottage and sitting on the verandah, watching and listening to the variety of birds at the damn. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Especially Sipwe and Jeanise ( sorry not sure how to spell them). It was a luxury to have our clothes laundered and ironed, thank you. The setting was very pretty and peaceful. Thank you :)

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. To enjoy the facility and the surroundings , you would be advised to be driving since getting taxis or ubers is not an option. Other than that, it is an amazing facility with very lovely hosts.
