The lodge features a terrace. The place is very comfortable and truly worth the value. What really made this stay special for us is the host. Ms Bernadette. She is a smily lady with great personality. She made us feel like home. I highly recommend this stay and surely if we'll visit Zanzibar again l. We will stay there if available.

It feels very local, natural and simple, but in the best way — cozy and real. The view to The Rock Restaurant is beautiful and around are many small boutique places and cafés. From here you can take a small boat to see the starfishes or go to Blue Lagoon. We saw dolphins in the sea very close to the shore! You can also walk to nearby cafes and small hotels. Having a car is recommended. The beach here is quiet: no sellers, no dancers and no people offering services. Nothing disturbs your rest. The owner is a warm and kind person that you feel like home. This is the real Zanzibar not like chain hotels. The place has its own vibe and soul. It is definitely not for people who want very luxury hotels with shiny things because everything here is very natural and simple. It is for those who want to feel the real local life. We already know that will want to come back.

Strongly recommend Joyce and team for your holiday to Zanzibar, everyone made us feel right at home. The hotel was incredibly cozy and homely, with a traditional, beachy feel and beautiful garden and pool. There is lots of space to rest and relax with direct access to the beach. Dinner is served family style each evening - it was wonderful to get to know the other guests and the team was able to cater to our dietary restrictions. The hotel staff helped us organise several different activities and excursions on the island once we arrived, as well as airport transfers and drivers whenever needed. Communication was very smooth.

Every staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. The staff at Monkey Mountain Lodge were incredibly kind and welcoming, we’ve never felt so well taken care of. The place itself is absolutely beautiful and will stay in our memories forever. The bungalows are clean, cozy, and offer amazing views with baobab trees. Every morning we were visited by adorable blue monkeys, which made the stay even more special! The breakfasts were also delicious. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Zanzibar!
