The chef is the best, is from india, but he cooks more then perfect. When i will come back in zanzibar, i only would go in Safaya. Thank you for everything.

The building is a wonder and itself worth the visit. Joyce and her team were so attentive, personable, and helpful and family-style meals were excellent. Utupoa sits directly on the beach and easily reachable by foot from the village of Matemwe. What a wonderful way for our family to get to know a corner of Zanzibar and to unwind from our adventures. Some rooms have a private swimming pool. Staff is great, always helpful. Place looks amazing. Quiet and relaxing. Food is nice and prices are alright. We enjoyed every day. Definitely worth a visit.

The upper floor beach front bungalows are like staying in a treehouse on the beach. The bed is huge and super comfortable. The balcony overlooking the beach has a daybed, table and a chair. You can walk straight on to the beach. Monkeys jump around in the trees directly outside the balcony. The food is amazing, and an incredible breakfast is included in the price. The beach, although wild and windy when we were there end July/beginning of August is stunning. Absolutely perfect!

The breakfasts were also delicious. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Zanzibar!
