Such great hosts! The room was comfortable and clean and they went out of the way to make sure we were warm and cozy…heater in the room, hot water for tea, hot water bottles to warm the beds, and tons of blankets. They transported us wherever we needed to go and made arrangements for our tour to Taquile. The food was yummy and the bed was comfortable. We even had a shower with hot water! I would highly recommend them for a stay on Uros!

Exceptional experience. Very comfortable lodge, very attentive and delicate hosts. Lodge itself is very big and has plenty seats (and even one bed) to enjoy the lake and sunrise/sunset/sun outside. Even hot shower. Even sofa. And decent lunch/dinner/breakfast. Strongly recommended.

The experience of sleeping on a small Uro island is unique and recommendable. Mama Lea is a very good cook! We had great meals. Transfer round trip is offered for 80 soles which is fair since it's around 30 minutes per way.

First off, what a magical experience this stay was from the people to the views to the room! Walter and his family really made this stay so special, they are the kindest people ever! From the moment we arrived they treated us with such care and love, Walter’s dad picked us up and dropped us off at the port, Walter took us on a private tour of the Uros Island in the traditional boats, his mom cooked the most wholesome dinner and breakfast for us, his mom also showed us her handmade artesiana, which were all so beautiful and we were able to purchase some to take a piece of them home and support this wonderful family. They made sure we were comfortable at all times, the room was spacious, had a heater for the nighttime, since it gets cold, plenty of blankets, hot showers, spectacular views, what else can you ask for?! They talked to us about their rich culture, which was impressive and it was a gift that they allowed us to take a peak into their everyday life as foreigners were not allowed back then in the Uros. I can not recommend this stay enough!! My husband and I left with our hearts full and a memory we will cherish for a lifetime! THANK YOU Walter, Maria, Sabino and Elena! Mucho amor y bendiciones!

Staying out on one the floating islands of Uros and learning about the history and traditions from a multigenerational member of the community was so inspiring. Amalia and Juan are both so helpful and kind and there three kids are a delight. It has been, by far, the highlight of this trip to Peru and Bolivia because of the special opportunity to connect and to slow the journey down and learn from a very smart and endearing man.

The way we were welcomed, we felt more like guests than clients. Félix showed us around the community, spent a lot of time explaining the history and traditions, and also booked additional trips for us. It was certainly a special moment during our trip in Peru, so would definitely recommend anyone staying at Uros Amaru Marka Lodge.
