Claudia’s cooking was equally remarkable—each meal was a masterpiece filled with love and flavor. And, of course, we can’t forget Tupac, their adorable and friendly llama. Hugging him was such a unique and heartwarming experience! The lodge is a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and cultural immersion. To top it off, Rodi is beginning to organize Inca Trail tours with a big focus on ensuring porters are treated with the utmost care and respect. If you’re looking to explore one of the most unique places on Earth while supporting ethical practices, this is the place to start. We couldn’t recommend Spirit of the River Lodge more highly. The property offers pick-up service by car to the property from the airport or a location in Cusco. Free parking is available at the property. We were a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teens/teenagers), we booked 2 of the pendant domes. They picked us up in Ollantaytambo, and took us on a quad ride to their reception (the kids said quad ride was a blast!). We were welcomed with soft blanket and tea by the heater. We needed to have at least 1 adult in each pod; the boys were with my husband, and they had to wear harness to climb to their pod. The jacuzzi was amazing, and when we woke up in the morning - the view....You have to see it for yourself. Everyone should experience it at least once in a lifetime.

The most incredible experiences we had in Peru! + The adventure starts with the Via Ferrata climb — exciting and so much fun. The guides were fantastic — professional, patient, and made us feel completely safe the whole time. Everything was well organized and clearly explained. + At the top, you’re rewarded with breathtaking views and a cozy communal lodge where a delicious multi-course dinner (with wine and dessert!) is served. Watching the sunset over the Sacred Valley was absolutely magical. + The sleeping pods were super comfortable and well equipped — warm blankets, water, and even a thermos with hot water. At night, you can sit outside wrapped in a blanket and stargaze — an unforgettable moment. + In the morning, we enjoyed another great meal for breakfast before ziplining down — the perfect ending to an already epic adventure. We were lucky to have an amazing team — Diego, Irbin, and Fabian — who made the whole experience even more special with their positivity and support!

Qenko is 32 km from the lodge, while Sacsayhuaman is 34 km from the property. Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport is 33 km away. Tania welcomed us with a smile and conversation. The balcony has a great view over the Pisac ruins. The bedroom was beautifully furnished and comfortable, which meant for a relaxing stay. It's a shame we could only stay one night! Though it is located a little out of the main centre of Pisac, I would say this is a good thing - there are collectivos and taxis which can take you down into the town and back.

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. The location, and property itself are stunning. The views from the large windows are to the mountains and the interior is finished to a modern and very high standard. Very tranquil all in all. Although the property is located out of town, Vanesa was happy to give us a lift when required. Breakfast was to an excellent standard providing a selection of good food which set us up for the day.

Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge. Very helpful and kind owner. We could even wash our car! Very comfortable room in a nice and quiet area!
