Our balcony private double room was a good size, nice views over town, warm comfortable bed and good hot shower with pressure. Ricky is a terrific host, smiling, happy and wanting to ensure you have the best experience possible. He helped with taxis and tours and was always willing to chat or help with anything. This isn’t 5 star- it is authentic, local guy making a lovely hostel for guests to enjoy.

The Lazy Dog Inn also offers packed lunches. This was perfect for our stay - we wanted some peace and quiet away from Lima where we live, and this was exactly what we wanted. There were other guests who did some amazing trekking too, so there is something for everyone here. I had a lovely horse ride with Wayne, one of the owners. Ideallic. Wayne and his wife Diana, who are Canadian, are wonderful hosts. The food is brilliant, worthy of the best restaurants in Lima (and dinner is included, which we didn't realise and was an amazing bonus). Our cottage had a wood fire too, which made it very cosy.
