The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. The grounds were spectacular. The beds perfect. The designs of the rooms and bathrooms were detailed and great. Loved the artwork outside of each room with matching key. The homemade food was wonderful and the coffee /pressed was the best I had. The owners are fantastic. Loved the fire and the stars from the spa.

I felt very comfortable in your accommodation; everything was new and perfectly prepared. The large glass front overlooking the pasture and the mountain range was the most beautiful feature. It’s 5 minutes to Waihi town and to Gold Discovery Center, less than 15 minutes to Karangahake Gorge, to Hauraki Heritage Train, to Waihi Beach, and Bowentown. Hobiton and the route to the Coromandel Peninsula are less than an hour's drive away. Next time I’d stay more days.

Guests at the lodge can enjoy a continental breakfast. The view was absolutely stunning! Such a big, beautiful house as well with a lovely owner. Great location. Got to see the highland cattle next to the house. Just such a relaxing experience, we would definitely go back!

Mystery Creek Events Centre is 45 km from the lodge, while Garden Place Hamilton is 27 km away. Hamilton Airport is 35 km from the property. ‘Do it yourself’ breakfast was just right! Everything we needed.. The trails on the farm, including a beautiful river path, were a real bonus!

This lodge has a garden, barbecue facilities, free WiFi and free private parking. We liked everything about Hares Rest. The location is perfect and the Lodge is very comfortable and clean with a fabulous vista surrounded by beautiful gardens. Alli and Glyn, the hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful and they provided us with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The breakfast hamper Alli provided was very special and included her fresh homemade bread and granola, locally sourced fresh produce and her homemade treats, were delicious. The tranquil and relaxing environment of the lodge was fabulous and is near to Lake Taupo and a number of attractions in the surrounding area.I would not hesitate in recommending Hares Rest.
