Great communal fascilities with delicious continental breakfast served daily, including home produced fresh eggs. Very, very friendly atmosphere all round both from the owners and the other guests. Also within touching distance of the Abel Tasman National Park, 20 minute drive to the boats taking you into the park. Lovely garden with very good supply of herbs if you’re cooking at all. Excellent cooking fascilities available in the communal kitchen.

We travel a lot and have seen many beautiful places and amazing accommodations around the world, but this stay was truly something special. The house itself is stunning, the surroundings are breathtaking, and what made it unforgettable were the incredible hosts, Luba and Alan. Their warmth and exceptional hospitality created a feeling of home from the very first moment. A special highlight was the private chef, Tony, whose dishes were outstanding and added an extraordinary touch to our stay. This place is genuinely magical – not only because of its beauty, but because of the people who make it so unique. We will remember this experience for a long time and can only give our highest recommendation.

The shuttle service to Abel Tasman made a day tramping in the park seamless. We enjoyed the accommodations so much we were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by one day. Pōhara is an excellent location for visiting the Golden Bay and I can’t recommend the Bay Lodge highly enough.

You can watch the stars from your bed, witch is wonderful and kind of magical. The room has a lot of space and is very cleen. The light is great and just adds to the calm atmosphere. The Owners are very nice. I got a free room-upgrade which was greatly appriciated! I had a great time there and would say it was the best place I have stayed in!
