Orakei Korako - The Hidden Valley is 38 km from Whakaipo Lodge, while Great Lake Convention Centre is 11 km away. Taupo Airport is 18 km from the property, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. The location was 10 minute drive from the centre of Taupo, breakfast was excellent. Angie and Garth were incredibly friendly giving us help with places to eat and all around the local area. Despite the cold weather in New Zealand for summer we had a fire in the lodge to keep us warm.

The lodge offers a children's playground. This place was amazing, I'm so glad I found it. So comfortable, they had everything we asked for to use in the kitchen, very well stocked kitchen as well. Shower was great, bed was super comfortable. Loved the free spa and the activities room. Super friendly staff, this was truly a gem. Had such a comfortable stay here, especially for a rainy day. Parking is a bit tight sometimes but it's close to the room and it works! Highly recommend!

Tongariro Lodge Restaurant specializes in traditional New Zealand dishes, guests enjoy meals by an open fire. Great lodge with chalets in very nice surroundings. The restaurant at the lodge was very nice for breakfast and dinner. Staff was very helpful. They organized a day of fly fishing for us and helped us with transportation to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
