Once I arrived they showed us around and let us hangout in the chill room since we arrived early in the morning! Can’t say enough wonderful things about the place and staff! We even got lucky with a show of the lights very short and sweet but we were thankful!

Guests at Bjørnfjell Mountain Lodge can enjoy a buffet breakfast. Stayed one night in room with window seat. Good sized room very nicely appointed - encouraged to use slippers inside on arrival which adds to cosy nature of property. Service was excellent, as was breakfast and dinner. Complimentary tea/coffee available all day. Good spot for hiking and northern lights (if weather permits). Must be fantastic in winter.

Staying at Holmen Husky is an experience far away from staying at an ordinary hotel. We want our guests to get closer to nature and to get a taste of what it is like to live close to the elements.

Holmen Husky is a small, family-run business who has been working with dogs since the 80s. Some of us have even grown up in the dogyard and on the sled. It is much more than an activity or an experience that has got us all addicted. it’s a feeling that must be experienced. Holmen Husky was the highlight of our month long trip. From sleeping in lavu to the food to the wonderful dogs that wait for you to walk past and rub their tummies. The staff are exceptional with a special shout out to Tess who fit us in for the amazing husky sledding and Wico for his amazing food. I cannot recommend this place enough. We even watched the Aurora from our bed! A great place for kids too....

10 km from Alta City and 500 metres from Alta River lies Trasti & Trine Boutique Hotel. Surrounded by forest, the location offers good hiking, skiing and biking trails straight from the cottage door. There is both free WiFi and free on-site parking. This vacation was a once in a lifetime experience. The location was perfect to see the northern lights, the restaurant served food of the quality of a Michelin star restaurant, and the staff was extremely friendly. Even though the location was quite remote, there were plenty of activities to do. PS: it is also a great place to propose to your girlfriend - a guaranteed YES (from personal experience) :)
