If you are looking for a place that has true serenity and tranquility, and some of the most stunning, unparalleled views in ourika, this is it. The national park was literally directly behind the property, with immediate access to day hikes through the valleys. Yes, there is no WiFi, but that's its true charm. All one could hear, was the odd donkey bray, or goat bleat down below some km or so away. Apart from that, the magical air of hearing absolutely nothing, except the wind rustling through the olive trees, is to die for for city folk polluted by noise 24/7. There are no other hotels or guesthouses. You are truly surrounded by villagers living their normal lives. And then the food, and the hospitality. Food was not gourmet, but really authentic, superbly tasty and so plentiful, that we learnt to skip lunch to make space for dinner, after such a hearty breakfast. I could not fault the hosts on anything. People can be glib these days about magical places where they stayed etc, but this one truly hits the mark. Thank you Hicham.

We stayed for three nights with our two teenagers and were very very comfortable. The Lodge features gorgeous views, made to order (you choose from an extensive menu) yummy meals, and wonderful staff that arrange everything. We stayed during a cold snap and we were still cozy and warm at night so don't let the weather forecast deter you-- during the day it heats up nicely for hikes and reading a book in the sun. The hike with Mohamed was amazing-- he is so humble despite losing his home in the terrible earthquake. The Ecolodge staff arranged transport to and from the lodge as well as a guided hike and diy hamam. We loved our stay and wish it could have been longer. Previous reviews said that you need a car but that is simply not true.

The property itself is spotless, elegant, and perfectly integrated into this magical, timeless setting. If you visit Agafay, you absolutely must stay here. Excursions and tastings are also available, making the experience even more special.
