The place is very simple but it has enough for a couple night staying. If you want some peace and a chill time before go to the crowder places in Sri Lanka I think is a right place. The owner was super kind and he helped us with everything
You can also book a safari tour with the hostel. It was a fair price and the entrance of the N. Park you have there is much less crowdy than the most famous one. We could see many different animals, and our guide Weli was also very nice guy. He speaks good english and after the safari we shared a beer and a very nice talk.
If you want visit a local village... Very recomended place!!! 10/10

Wadula Safari was amazing. We were greeted by the friendliest staff, taken for a walk around the jungle (where we saw monkeys, all kinds of birds, and lizards), and then served a delicious dinner. They also arranged a wonderful safari with a guide, and helped us speak with and find our taxi driver.

Yala
Situated 14 km from Tissa Wewa, Yala Jungle Haven features accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a 24-hour front desk for your convenience. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. We wanted to stay close to the park with the feeling of being inside it and being close to nature and the animals, and Yala Jungle Haven delivered on all fronts! You’re in the middle of nature, so don’t be spooked when a salamander or lizard walks around the room and leaves some droppings or tiny frogs enter and jump around. They are harmless and make it the full experience. There’s also a small crocodile in the pond next to the room and in the morning we had a water buffalo in it and a peacock on top of the tree. You won’t have aircon or hot water as there’s only one generator but there’s a fan and a mosquito net if you need to open the windows and it’s hot enough to enjoy the colder shower. The owners, Tushara and his parents, are amazing and do everything they can to make you feel at home. The food is freshly prepared and delicious, definitely the bbq chicken (a bit pricey compared to other areas but makes sense as shops are not close and everything is made from scratch). You eat dinner on the rock where you can look at the stars by the fire and a bit higher up you can go watch the sunrise/sunset. Sometimes an animal that can walk under the fence for elephants (monkeys, wild boar, leopard, …) walks by. We saw the first two. Breakfast in the hut is also amazing as a giant squirrel joins you to ask for a banana. Tushara knows a lot about the environment and animals as he has been a guide for over 25 years, so you can ask him anything. We did the full day safari in Yala National Park with them which was also a great experience. We got to see 2 leopards, 40 elephants, 3 crocodiles, many antilopes, spotted deers, birds, water buffaloes, mongoose, monitor lizards, … Unfortunately Tushara couldn’t come with us because the generator broke and he had to stay to fix it, so his cousin came with us. Although he was a man of little (English) words, he made sure we saw a lot of animals and tried to explain what he could.

The perfect place for an authentic safari glamping experience - sitting out under the stars at night and listening to the sounds of nature. The lodge is run by a lovely family who are friendly and professional. They also cook delicious food so I highly recommend having a candlelit dinner at the lodge!
Beautiful, comfy and spacious safari tent. Lovely outdoor area with a real safari feel. Amazing food served under the stars each night. We went on a safari organised by Ranakeliya lodge and owner Thisara joined us which was a pleasure and great experience. 100% recommended this place
Our stay at koragaha lodge was perfect. They organised several safaris for us and went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable time with a brilliant guide and driver. The rooms and whole setting was beautiful and so well thought out. Praveen and his team offer an outstanding level of service which we haven’t encountered elsewhere at this level. My sister required gluten free meals and they made dishes especially for her dietary requirements with no hassle. Thank you for the most amazing couple of days!
Staff are amazing and more than willing to help and just have a conversation. Damien was our guide for our safaris (which the Lodge booked and arranged for us) and Damien was just brilliant. Highly recommend requesting him if you do any safaris and get a guide. Would come back and stay again.
We stayed in the tented lodge for one night. The lodge is amazing. It is beautifully built, very clean with mosquito nets on every entrance and window. The open air bathroom rounded up the glamping experience. There is electricity and even wifi in the tents. We booked two safaris and one starlight BBQ. The safari organisation went smooth and the guides were really good. The dinner was outstanding and one of our highlights of the whole vacation. The owners are super friendly. Would definately recommend!
The lodges are absolutely stunning. This hotel was actually one of the highlights of our trip. We loved the huge garden which is perfect for birdwatching. The team is amazing and accommodated us very last minute. We’ll definitely be back!
The lodge is really nice and well aligned with nature - beautiful view from the rock just beside of the main building. Very quite - just nature sounds. There is also a small and warm temperatured pool that invites to relax after a safari day in the yala national park. The staff is really friendly and supportive - always smiling. We really liked it here.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good food in the restaurant, rooms were very clean. Perfect location to go on a safari in Yala. The hotel also organised a Safari for us. Prasad was the best guide and was so knowledgeable! He told us all about the wildlife in the park and did everything he could to make sure we get to see a Leopard! It was a great experience in the Lodge and on The safari with Prasad!
Brilliant location not far from Yala national park. Lodges are nicely spaced out to enjoy a peaceful stay. Praveen was excellent and gave us lots of tips, including how to cook some Sri Lankan food. Make sure you spend an evening walking to the nearby lake to enjoy all the wildlife. We had a great time and wish we'd stayed longer.
Really nice Pool and the lodges look really nice. Super friendly stuff and good food! Perfect for 1-2 nights to do a Safari.
