I also really appreciated lifts too and from ski school and to the train station. It was honestly such a beautiful stay and I will be back. For any solo travellers, it was a very family vibe and I felt very welcome. Thank you Papa!

It felt like staying at your favorite relative's house for a long weekend. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, the place is warm and cozy, and the food is world class. There was a different hot meal available every morning and plenty of tea, hot coffee, fresh bread from a local bakery, and a nice selection of jams and spreads to choose from. In the evenings, there's a different meal offered each night in the communal dining room where the fire is always burning and there's always a friendly face to pour you a drink and ask about your day. I also spent a decent amount of time curled up with a good book on one of the couches when I wasn't out playing in the snow. The bed was super comfortable and I slept like a log every night.

They made sure we had everything we needed, gave us good recommendations of where to go while in Myoko-Kogen and overall we’re very helpful to us!

The house and staff was awesome, they were very helpful with everything we needed. It was epic to have the shuttles from the staff around town to go to dinner or go snowboarding or anything else we needed. Breakfast in the morning sharp at 7:30 got our day started right! Legend inn was the best, would happily stay here again!

Myoko Ski Lodge, in Akakura Village offers 1-star accommodation with a hot spring bath. It’s a happy place! Geoff and Tania ensured that we were well taken care of throughout the stay! They tried their best to pick us up from the train station even though there was a heavy snowfall on the night we arrived. All staffs were kind and friendly. Others who lived at the lodge were also very nice and sociable. I’m really glad to meet new friends from different parts of the world. Started the day with breakfast prepared by the team, then went snowboarding — ask Geoff to recommend ski areas if you’re unsure! Get into the onsen after a whole day of snow then head out to the village (about 7min walk) for dinner after — similarly, if you’re unsure where to eat, ask! Hang out at the common area to chill, chat, watch a movie, play games with affordable beers etc! Maximise your time here if you can! We were really sad to leave and wanted to stay an extra day.. ): till next time! The lodge offers 4-star accommodation with a hot tub and hot spring bath. The family room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. Good size with tatami floor beds in one room and western beds in the other room. Free breakfast was provided which was perfect before a day of skiing. Loved the common lounge/ dining/ bar area, it was a great place to hang out. The common dry room was convenient for storing ski gear and laundry room was useful too. Located in Myoko and only 46 km from Ryuoo Ski Park, Arai Villa Myoko provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. This lodge is 23 km from Lake Nojiri and 42 km from Lake Hokuryuko. The house was spacious and comfortably furnished. The beds were very comfortable with high quality linen. The villa is close to Lotte Arai resort (about 5 minute drive) and the managers of the villa were extremely helpful in arranging transport for our group with a neighbour, who was charming and helpful. The manager also arranged dinner for us at a local restaurant which usually only offers lunch and this was a very special experience for us. The drying room was excellent for our ski gear. From the house are views of the surrounding rice fields and up to the mountains.
