Definitely stay at Artha Cottages! We stayed here to visit Tumpak Sewu, but gave ourselves an extra day. We’re so glad we did this as we had the best day of our trip - we visited Kapas Biru waterfall (a hidden gem with not many tourists, and a steep but manageable walk down/up). Then we mentioned at reception that we wanted to see Mount Semeru. The wonderful Suzan who works at Artha Cottages took us there herself! We took mopeds and she took us to three different spots and we watched the sunset behind the volcano - and Suzan took lots of photos for us on her camera which was so special! We’ve talked about this moment weeks after the holiday as the kindness of Suzan to do this really meant a lot to us. The food in the restaurant was nice and they let me have meals without the meat in as I’m a vegetarian. We also ate a few times at a local Warung (Selera Nusantara) which was delicious and had a big menu. The rooms had everything we needed, the pool was amazing after hiking, the trips were 10/10, but the people at Artha Cottages made it.

If I could rate this any higher I would. Amazing location, awesome staff and the breatfast is sooo good. Taufan was so helpful, chatted to me about Javanese culture, gave me great recommendations on where to visit and what to eat. I could spend my entire trip here. Thanks heaps!

The staff were so welcoming, accommodating and kind, helping us in and out with our bags and waking us up for breakfast so we didn't miss it! The rooms were lovely and clean, and the bathroom was excellent with a lovely shower. The food was also delicious and the location is perfect for the waterfalls as you are only a short walk away. I couldn't reccomend this enough if you are looking to to the Tumpak Sewu Waterfalls! Thank you

Amazing location of the glamping, especially liked the separate exit to the trail to the volcano. Very friendly staff, helped with all questions. The ability to organize a barbecue is a special pleasure. And also a fire pit area, where my friends and I sang songs with a guitar. Everything is great!
