Set atop a 100 metre hill overlooking the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve, The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is located in Bilit, and is located a 2 hour drive from the beautiful Sandakan.

This property features rooms that provide towels and bed linen. The en suite bathroom comes with free toiletries. The resort is very well managed. Host is super friendly and we felt well taken care of, including delicious meals, great experiences on outdoor activities and the cozy room. Although the resort located in the middle of the mountain, everything is in good condition and very clean.

Bayu Senja Lodge features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kundasang.

At the lodge you will find a restaurant serving Chinese, Malaysian and Grill BBQ cuisine. Vegetarian and halal options can also be requested. For the middle of the jungle, they have a great setup for all you need. The meals were fantastic and the staff super friendly. We were so lucky to see the Borneo 5 and the highlight was some orangutans and a herd of 50+ Pygmy Elephants. A wonderful trip. Mark our tour guide was fantastic.

Some accommodation includes a terrace with mountain views, a fully equipped kitchen and a private bathroom with bidet. This place had a beautiful view of Mt. Kinabatangan and the owners were really nice.

The lodge offers a sun terrace. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Free snorkeling around Waterhouse and equipment is also free(10RM to rent fin though). Dining is amazingly delicious(we had very good crabs).

Located in Kudat, Tampat do Aman provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant.

If you would like to discover the area, hiking is possible in the surroundings and the lodge can arrange a car rental service. We had a wonderful stay at Tampat do Aman- Howard was so friendly and helpful, he showed us around and gave us recommendations what to do and where to eat( Inas café is really good). He cares about the local culture and environment and there is also a little museum about the people there( the Rungus) and their culture. We overall can really recommend staying there!
