At the lodge guests are welcome to take advantage of a hot tub. We loved our staying at Little Escape and we couldn’t recommend it enough. Mike has done a great job with lofts, the design is really beautiful and modern. The open space is perfect for having dinner and relaxing watching TV. Loved the upstairs too, from the balcony you have the jungle vibe. The pool is also a nice feature, for those lazy days. Mike is super friendly, he will help you in any way he can and he know well the area either for surf spots, cafes or restaurants.

The lodge features a terrace. The property was amazing, staying in the rain forest but with the luxury of the comfiest bed, clean bathroom and the best views. Alva was amazing, so friendly and helpful made our experience all the better.

Nauyaca Waterfalls is 28 km from the lodge. Beautiful setting - feels like you’re in the rainforest. We saw monkeys and toucans and loads of different birds feeding on the palm fruits. It was very relaxing to sit on the balcony and watch them! The hosts were also very helpful and responsive on WhatsApp, and the wood cabin was well catered and lovely

Tortuga is 2.4 km from the lodge, while Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary is 29 km away. This is like luxury camping, where the place is a mix between a tent and an apartment. We had a nice view of the mountains, which we enjoyed from our terrace with a hammock, and we cooked on the gas stove. It was so peaceful. My biggest fear was sleeping without air conditioning, but we slept well. The beds are comfortable, and the fan and fresh air were sufficient for good sleep.

Boasting free private parking, the lodge is in an area where guests can engage in activities such as hiking, fishing and snorkelling. This was exactly what I was looking for. Something deeper in the jungle yet close to Uvita and the coast. Just the peace and quiet and closeness to Nature I needed. And the cabin has no glass windows, just screens, so you can hear the music of the jungle very clearly. Nights were spectacular. I loved falling asleep to the symphony of the the surrounding wilderness and waking up to the sounds of roosters and howler monkeys (: The property has access to a river and mini waterfall which was very tranquil and serene. The drive to the cabin was a fun little adventure in itself and 4x4 is recommended. The hill that leads down to the cabin is ultra steep but you have the option to park atop the hill and walk down which is a short jaunt. The host, Wouter, was amazingly attentive, personable, and chill. He would always respond to my questions/ messages quickly. You could not ask for a better host. I can recommend Loft del Rio with total confidence and rate it a perfect 10. If you are looking to experience an immersive jungle experience that is also close to the coast, this is it.
