Senora is 4 k’s from town and is genuinely surrounded by jungle. Puerto Viejo is busy so I was so glad to reach the serenity of Senora. Anastasia is a beautiful host and the breakfasts were delicious. The yoga room looked amazing, although we didn’t have a chance to do a class! This a wonderful place to decompress and recharge. We hired bikes from a nearby place and rode everywhere which was brilliant. I loved our stay here.

This is in the most stunning location and all the lodges are surrounded by beautiful trees and plants. The path entering onto the beach is magical. We came by bus and enjoyed using the bikes to explore the area. (Bring your own bike lights!) We had the suite and loved the cosy kitchen as a place to be in the evening. Kitchen was very well equipped, it even had a teapot which we really appreciated! For the carless - local restaurant 'Selvin' is a few minutes walk away and is really good, but it is only open Thursday-Sunday. Other places you need to walk at least 1/2 hour or bike or TukTuk. Very lovely and helpful Nicole, the onsite manager, as well as the smiling gardener who brought us coconut water, grapefruits and bananas. Will carry on dreaming about this place and hope to return!

Absolutely beautiful. Our favourite stay so far. The site is phenomenal - we explored the grounds and loved the nature. The staff were amazing they went above and beyond. Cabin was beautiful and totally allowed disconnection from the world. Lovely breakfast - all fresh from the garden. We loved it.

Very nice, big, calm and clean Lodges with mesmerizing sourrounding. Best place for everyone wanting to relax and searching for privacy. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Thank you!

Playa Negra Guesthouse is located in Cahuita, right in front of the beach. All units feature a seating area. Some units have a terrace and/or balcony with pool or garden views.

It’s a very nice and special place led by a lovely family. Owners are very friendly and helpful, there is a beautiful surrounding, beach really close and some beach restaurants within walking distance. Comfortable, spacious room with kitchenette, kept clean with everyday service.

Finca Chica offers accommodation in Puerto Viejo. Cahuita is 16 km from the property. Free WiFi is featured and free private parking is available on site.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, bungalow was so unique, clean and well kept. Obviously it was a bit noisy because it’s in the jungle, but to be expected, and such a unique experience. Food was really good, would definitely recommend.

The location, in a peaceful garden close to Play Negra was fantastic. The array of birds and wildlife in a relatively small area was staggering. There are just a few apartments spread out amongst the grounds yet we saw over twenty species of birds in a couple of hours including toucans, hummingbirds and Montezuma oropendula. We also saw a mother and baby sloth in the tree above our room, howler monkeys, agouti and frogs! It's an easy walk to the national park and there's lots of restaurants within walking distance. The food truck close by was particularly tasty. There's also a large new looking supermarket nearby. The accommodation itself was great value for money. Having the outside sitting area meant we could still enjoy the wildlife when it was raining. We had a kettle, coffee maker and a small fridge as well as basic eating utensils, so it was perfect for preparing simple cold meals. The accommodation was very clean and smelt fresh which can be hard to maintain in the humid environment. The provision of a hammock and drying rack was appreciated. We also noticed they were doing some little renovations and taking steps to keep the place nice. Communication was warm and easy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. Overall Cahuita was fantastic.
