With garden views, Gran Gavilán del Sarapiquí Lodge is set in Sarapiquí and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. This was easily the best place we stayed on our 3 week trip is Costa Rica. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were amazing, they have a brand new pool to cool down in. The breakfast was very incredible, and the lunch and dinner were the best tasting food we had on our trip (the Spanish omelette is a must). By far the most special thing was the wildlife, within the hotel trails we saw monkeys, sloths, toucans, Macaws, lots of hummingbirds and butterflies to name a few. You can see all of this whilst having a beer or walking the 3km of trails within the hotel. At night time the trails come alive with frogs. It deserves more than a 10 rating, only regret was we only stayed for 2 nights.

Tirimbina Rainforest Lodge offers free breakfast and a buffet at its restaurant. Amazing! Very cosy place, exceeded our expectations (after reading some sceptical reviews)! It is a very comfortable, tranquile, lots of nature around you, wonderful people, working at it. We also liked the tours and the restaurant (and very kindhearted ladies in it :) p.s. try to "use" the time before and after the tourists "from outside the gate" come (evening and morning, before 9-10 a.m.). It is not becoming too crowdy, but before this you have a feeling of being "nearly alone in a beautiful nature". After this you can enjoy a wonderful terrace, where we saw many nice birds and beautiful frogs.

Tipi Maleku, a property with a garden and a terrace, is set in Heredia, 16 km from Poas National Park, 5.5 km from La Paz Waterfall Gardens, as well as 6.9 km from La Paz Waterfall. This lodge offers free private parking, room service and free WiFi. What a beautiful spot ! The river along the cabin, the pond with the animals and the waterfall nearby are so charming. I wish I would have stay more than a night because I would have like to enjoy more all the facilities around and the beautiful surroundings.
