A nice setting to enjoy the moment. A peaceful setting, the place has everything you need: a comfortable king size bed, a balcony to enjoy the view of the lake and the volcano (if not covered with clouds!), a kitchenette, plenty of hot water for showers, and very sweet hosts. And the plentiful breakfast was brought to our door every morning. It was our base to explore the lake and the countryside.

A continental breakfast is available at the lodge. A warm welcome with generous hearts. Our room was warm and cosy with a comfortable bed. We loved sitting in the lounge during our evenings to enjoy a glass of our own wine bought at a local supermarket. It was indeed a home away from home. We had fabulous advice for the must see/dos in the area and assistance with bookings as needed. Breakfast was too good not to eat, with homebaked treats.

Situated 1.9 km from Sabanilla Beach, Cabañas y hostal Aurora features accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. Breakfast was prepared always just before we came down . We were always asked what time we wanted to have breakfast. We stayed over Newyear's eve and New years day. And they arranged for a delicious meals to be brought to the lodge for us during a time many restaurants were closed. Parking was in a gated area and very secure. they have cat and dogs that were very friendly, but were kept outside our entire stay. The owners kept in contact with us prior to arriving. I would go back here anytime!

Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. Spacious and well-equipped Cabañas. It is around 800m / 15 minutes from the centre of town but close to the lake front with good restaurants. Good internet connection. The owners Julio and his staff were super helpful and friendly. Although the breakfast is extra, it is superb in quality and variety … better value than many hotels.

A children's playground is available on site and canoeing can be enjoyed within close proximity of the lodge. Where do I start? This is an exceptional stay, the location is wonderful with the sea advancing underneath the property at high tide. The bird life is easy to spot from inside the cabin and the balcony is a good size to sit out in. You can stargaze from there at night. Inside the log burner keeps everything cozy and the kitchen is well equipped. There are shops within a 10 minute walk. Castro is easily accessible by local bus. If you don’t speak Spanish, the drivers are very helpful. Castro itself is a good visit with lots of shops and cafes and good views. The staff overcome language problems with ease simply with the desire for you to enjoy your stay. There are cats, chickens and a very engaging young dog. I don’t give 10/10s. This is a 10/10.

My boyfriend and I arrived at the Michimahuida cabins as the first destination on our trip to the Carretera Austral. Our stay in the place was short, however we managed to establish a super pleasant and friendly communication with Nano, the owner of the place and his work team, who treated us in a super warm and close way. I must also mention that Nano was a good support for us, during the trip, with recommendations, and giving his help after we suffered an accident on the road. We are fine, nothing happened to us, however we had to alter the order of everything a bit and Nano in a super disinterested way helped us.
