Didn’t expect the room come with little pantry with ricecooker, water kettle, and stove to cook. Plates, cups and utensil for cooking also provided. But they only allow Halal food ya. There is fridge also. Room is very clean and love the sweet pink color room😆 pool is not too deep and have lovely warm temperature. This place is well maintain.

You're staying right on the beach with the most epic sunsets you can watch from your bed in a chalet and just fall asleep to the waves. Literally some of the best nights sleep we had in a long time. Romeo the owner was so kind and welcoming, he made us feel safe and provided wonderful service while we were there. The breakfast and dinner were both so good, cheap seafood and some of the best we've had in Asia! (been travelling for 4 years) Prices are really good too for what you get. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone who likes the quiet beach life away from everything.

Fred, the owner, built this Ecolodge himself with a clear mission: to be 100% sustainable. Every aspect of the property reflects that goal—everything is green, circular, and thoughtfully designed. The lodge is impressively clean, well-maintained, and full of character. The rooms are spacious, freshly renovated, and each comes with its own private bathroom. We stayed in the Double Room, which was very comfortable and equipped with a fan—perfect for keeping cool at night. All the essentials are available on-site, including kayak and snorkeling gear rentals, which made exploring the area super convenient. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the food. Sook Peng, Fred’s wife, is not only an incredible cook but also a truly warm and welcoming person. Sharing meals with her was a joy, and her cooking made every meal memorable. There are also cozy hammocks for relaxing, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind. We couldn't recommend this place more highly—it's a rare gem built with heart and purpose. Set atop a 100 metre hill overlooking the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve, The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is located in Bilit, and is located a 2 hour drive from the beautiful Sandakan.

This property features rooms that provide towels and bed linen. The en suite bathroom comes with free toiletries. What a find! Our stay was just brilliant. A really personalised experience, the food was incredible and all activities were in small groups. We had several different dietary requirements within our group and they catered to this extremely well - lots of variety but each meal was equally delicious! Jason provided the best hospitality we’ve had in 5 months in Asia. He went above and beyond to help us organise the next parts of our trip, booking onward travel for us and giving us some great tips for our upcoming Mt Kinabalu climb! Thank you so much 😊

Amazing view with balcony overlooking southern mountains and hills from my room. Tidy & clean, with a decent restaurant on-site so not necessary to drive out to eat. Toiletries are sufficient. Thoughtful details in the room. Pleasantly surprised to find this in such a location.

At the lodge you will find a restaurant serving Chinese, Malaysian and Grill BBQ cuisine. Vegetarian and halal options can also be requested. Great place to stay in the Kinabatangan River. We only stayed one night but got to see Borneo’s Big 5! Staff were fantastic, food lovely. Would definitely recommend. Thank you! Hayley & Justin.

Vegetarian, dairy-free and halal options can also be requested. Really amazing place to stay near all of the sights in Sepilok. I chose to walk everywhere and it seemed to be in a pretty central location. Food was tasty and staff was friendly.

The lodge offers a sun terrace. We had an amazing stay at maglami, the location and facilities are just amazing and not turistic at all. The staff is really kind and helpful, the food is good and the vibe with the other is simply magic!

If you would like to discover the area, hiking is possible in the surroundings and the lodge can arrange a car rental service. The love and passion was overwhelming and made us feel one with nature and culture of Borneo. it’s back to the roots and not for someone who is looking for a luxurious stay. it’s simple but we loved it!!!!! we would like to come back again to support Howard in sustaining the culture
