Great homely stay an hour drive away from Auckland. Angela is super friendly and makes you feel like home immediately. Cute location in a quiet area, with sheep nearby and a nice backyard with a heated pool. Highly recommend to stay here for an escape from the city or on the way up north!

When we travel, we generally pick simple places that meet the following criteria - clean, good hot water supply, good wifi, the option to make tea and a basic breakfast in the morning, and ideally quiet. This motel met all of those! It's also a 5-minute walk to the main street where you can get a bus that'll get you to the metro station or to an Airport Link bus station. In addition, there's a Countdown grocery store around the corner and a variety of places to eat - although the majority will be Indian fare. Being vegetarian, that was perfect for us.

Just an incredible place - 'cabin' is understating it. The views across to Auckalnd and Rangitoto alone are worth the price, but it's the little touches that make this place special: all the fittings are metal where possible, the finishing is exceptional, and the wine is from across the road. It gave our stay a feeling of luxury and care that was beyond the price. It was also probably the best bed we've ever had - it shaped itself to us in a way neither of us had experienced before.
