Great location in the jungle! The man will pick you up in his tuk tuk, the room was clean and had a superb mosquito net. The breakfast was the best ever then the pool. much satisfied to made a booking here.

Wild River Side was the perfect place to stay for my trip to Udawalawe. Such a tranquil location with Sameera and his family being the perfect hosts. When I arrived he showed me around his garden and pointed out all the spices and plants he grows. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, I had the most restful night’s sleep and it’s truly a unique experience staying in the middle of the jungle amongst the wildlife. Sameera also organised a great safari for me with Milan. If this is part of your itinerary make sure to book through them! Afterwards the delicious home cooked breakfast introduced me to authentic Sri Lankan dishes including hoppers and their sweet pancake rolls. After checking out Sameera dropped me off at the bus stop and even waited with me to make sure I got on safely. This caring and considerate gesture reflects the hospitality at Wild River Side and I can’t recommend staying there enough.

We went for the safari, we stayed in a very rural area surrounded by nature to make the experience even better. On arrival we were offered a cooking class in the evening which was excellent. Sujee and his wife are so lovely and he is so knowledgeable about the safari. The hotel itself is very well built and kept and high quality. We went on a all day safari from around 10am, lunch included, and saw so much on the day, I would highly recommend a longer safari if you can afford it as it’s really worth it.

Everything was perfect! The room was really clean and spacious, and the host was incredibly kind. He even allowed us a late checkout since our safari ended at 12 PM and prepared a delicious breakfast for us to take along early in the morning. I highly recommend staying here when visiting Udawalawe.

The Nature Glow Cottage was a perfect launching pad for my Udawalawe safari, which the Owner also organized for me upon my arrival. The staff were attention to my every need, while also ensuring to leave me with my own space. and the property grounds were a delight to walk around. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and it was great to having with real local food, all the food was make by the owner and his wife, Super delicious. The property and my experience was pretty perfect. Absolutely loved our night here - beautiful hotel and grounds - a real relaxing retreat! Such a shame that it was a quick 1 night stopover as would love to have spent more time here. Thanks a lot to Nalaka for the support in organizing our trip and the great safari! We had a relaxing two days in nature at the homespun Glimra eco lodge on our way to Uda Walawe safari park. It was great to meet and chat to our helpful and attentive hosts Roshani and Nishanka, who are at the beginning of their journey making a larger lodging ground, and it was special to stay in their first house made by Nishanka himself. We enjoyed our afternoon canoe ride by a local fisherman, and spotting birds and animals by the lake
