This house has all the necessary amenities for a trip. The view from the terrace to the jungle, even during the rain, is calming. The hostess is super polite and super kind. The road to the hotel is a bit difficult if you are driving your own car, so we did not risk going down to the city in the evening. But we still liked everything very much.

Best home stay we went in 2 months Sri Lanka. Very beautiful location, middle of nature. We woke up with tea every morning watching the forest wake up and see all the animals Very delicious breakfast and diner. We loved out stay at Arawe, it was one of the most pleasant stays in Sri Lanka. The bungalow was beautifully decorated, it’s located near the forest and tea plantations and it’s within walking distance from the city center. The breakfast was excellent. Our daughter loved to play with the friendly dogs and cat, we saw a lot of birds and even fireflies at night.

The house is clean and comfortable, up on the hill, in a nice area. The view from the terrace is wonderful, it is very pleasant to eat, play cards or just sit outside. The host family is really nice and friendly: Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The accommodation is a bit far from the city, but with tuktuk it takes only some minutes. When we arrived, the host came for us to the railway station with his own tuktuk, which you can use at other times for a fair price. We had a great time here, we would come back anytime!

Very nice authentic lodges surrounded by trees. Extremely friendly staff who spoke good English. Option to dine „at home“ on the terrace. Interesting cookery class. Excellent day trip organised to traditional village and waterfall.

The Spice Lodge is a special place located within walking distance to Ella center. The family that runs the lodge are the kindest, most helpful people. The breakfast was delicious, and the dinner we had was the best curry we had on our trip. Highly recommended lodging.
