The staff, the food, the property....all invite you to relax. The view of the lake in the morning....calm, peace... So it was really a place to come out of your mind and into your senses....excellent food....I didn't know that one can cook with such variety vegetarian food...and above all it tasted sooo good. Boat trip through the Mangrove forest...some sightseeing....sunsets...a Crocodile did some sunbathing on the rocks....don't worry it was far away....the staff always give you a hand...Roy the magician, Insaf and his father Ilyas. As I asked for a room with river view they gave me a room in the villa without extra pay. Once in awhile I had a head, neck shoulder massage...couldn't get enough of it... So all in all a very relaxed and pleasant experience....No wonder I stayed for two weeks...

One of the best hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka. The Bungalow is directly at the beach (10 meters, so it is really part of the beach). You can hear the ocean while falling asleep. The breakfast was great and the staff is always nice, esp. Barbara who is owning the place. Drinking water is for free at the bar. They have 2 Beachvolleyball courts and offer Yoga for a fair price. We could have stayed there forever :)

This location is amazing! And the people who live in even more🤩 the kitchen is world class, the service as well! Great Yoga class in the morning, afterwards we got wonderful treatments... what a retreat🥰

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say it was an amazing experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless, spacious, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast spread was delicious, with a variety of fresh options to choose from. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay. Cant wait to return!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The place itself is truly beautiful, surrounded by nature, perfect for relaxation and enjoying the authentic atmosphere of the area. The owners were incredibly kind, helpful, and always available whenever we needed anything, which made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts were delicious, full of fresh and local flavors. Everything exceeded our expectations, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!

A Misty Mountain Paradise — Beyond Words Just 1.5 hours from Colombo, yet it feels like stepping into a dream — surrounded by misty mountains, forest, and clouds drifting past your window. The villa itself is breathtaking — glass walls all around, giving the feeling of being in a treehouse suspended in the mist. Sunrise feels magical. The food was exceptional — fresh, natural, and made with love. We mostly chose the local dishes — kiribath served with caramelized onion, homemade salmon(red curry), laveriya, herbal porridge and fresh fruits. Their western cuisine was equally wonderful. No added sugar or artificial flavors and the beautiful presentation made every meal memorable. Mouthwatering lunch wrapped in banana leaves and evening tea with helapa added that special Sri Lankan warmth. The villa was spotless — truly the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed. The owner’s hospitality was beyond comparison, making us feel like family. My daughter loved the short forest hike nearby, and the peaceful surroundings made it so hard to leave. Manarala Villa is pure serenity — a 7-star escape where nature, comfort, and care blend perfectly. We can’t wait to return for a longer stay!
