This hotel is really amazing in the heart of the old town of Hanoi. Easy to walk to all attractions around. The staff is so friendly, was such a incredible warm hearted experience (reception, concierge, room service, breakfast staff - everybody). There is a nice rooftop bar - had some very cocktails at night with a spectacular view over the skyline of Hanoi. Also booked a day trip to Ninh Binh directly in the hotel - was perfectly organized. Could not be better - we will come back definitely to this hotel

HK lake is so beautiful to me.

HK lake is so beautiful to me. It just like what I pictures the place in my mind. When I grew up in Saigon, the country still divided by that time and I can only pictured the place from the books or magazines or my own imagination. I am so glad to have a chance to see, feel and breathing the air when I was there. I will visit this area again and again.

Architecture, culture, people and on week end festivals.

Architecture, culture, people and on week end festivals. Hoan Kiem lake has it all. A stroll around the lake and you go from old town to French quarter to temples. Mornings you’ll see the locals out early doing their daily exercise and at night catch a dance or two. The markets come alive in the streets at night. And of course a visit to beer street is a must. Sit above the big road about in highland coffee shop and watch the motorbikes or across the road is loveletter cafe. Here you can write ✍️ a love ❤️ letter to your loved one and post it on the walls ceiling chairs.

If you can, go there on the weekends.

If you can, go there on the weekends. The few major streets in the area are closed to traffic and are taken over by pedestrians and kids on motorized vehicles. It is a “hunting ground” for students learning English. On one walk around the lake, we were approached by se real groups of kids asking to practice English. They all have these sheets of paper with set of question that they ask you. Quite often they come with the teacher who will approach you first.

Take an early morning walk around the lake to truly get to know Hanoi and its people. See the various aspects of the culture at play, from groups of elderly having their morning dance session to savvy tourists in colourful Ao Dai posing before Ngoc Son temple. Seeing the contrast between the exuberant human activities in the park and the sparsely populated streets surrounding it is truly an experience.

This within the old quarter is the reason for 99% of visitors to Hanoi. A beautiful lake that it seems the whole of the Vietnamese population want to come to for the special photo opportunities of a marriage. Every day hundreds of couples, awash with flowers and elegant clothes intermingle with the thousands of tourists, dozens of tourist buses, coaches, fast food sellers of every description and quality, cheap nasty gifts offered every few yards with equally cheap and nasty, illegal, sometimes aggresive natives looking to extract by any means your last dong.

Hostel is few minutes away from Hoàn Kiếm lake, hidden in a small alley, which makes it a little harder to find, but at the same time much quieter place. Staff is friendly and helpful. In the morning there is breakfast, simple but fully sufficient. Strong wifi, comfortable beds with electric socket, own light and small cabinet. There is also roof top with some view over Hanoi.

Minerva Premium location near the Hoan Kiem Lake and Old Town was perfect for exploration. The best part about the hotel was its breakfast which was a mix of buffet and ala carte. All dishes were delicious particularly the burger and french toast. Some of the buffet items were changed daily. The views from the sky bar was beautiful too.

It's a great location, about 10 minutes to Hoan Kiem Lake and 6 minutes to Dong Xuan Market. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was decent. The facilities are a bit dated, which is fine for me, who tends to just sleep in my accommodations while traveling, but if you're concerned about quality, consider this hotel. I chose a room with a city view, but they didn't give me one, which was a bit disappointing. I used it well during my three-day trip to Hanoi.
