Omg where do I begin? The place is a eco friendly establishment in a very quiet area in Trang An. The staff is extremely friendly and will help you with booking buses and recommending where to visit during your stay. We also got 2 body massages and they were the best I’ve had in Vietnam! The food at the restaurant was so so good! Glad we stayed with them!

I have booked a total of 3 hotels during my 4 days trip to Ninh Binh. By far this hotel is the cleanest, cheapest and newest. For barely US$20 per night during weekday, it comes with freshly cooked breakfast, super clean comfortable bed and bathroom. And a fantastic view from the bed when you wake up! Although none of the owner and staff speak English, I could still communicate with them using Google Translate. Most homestays by the river are situated in rather remote area; Hoang Long is about 7 mins walk to the main road. The owner will be happy to give you a ride in his car (for a small fee) or you can take their bicycle for free. Google Map doesn't give the right direction to the hotel and taxi driver may have a little difficulty but it's a small problem. This homestay is brightly lit up with colourful lights at night so taxi driver can look out for it. I highly recommend this homestay. The following homestay I went to about 10 mins drive away was much less comfortable with room appliances and bathroom not in good order despite having many good reviewers

Everything was amazing! The venue is beautiful And the family are making this place very welcoming… from the dog, to the little kids, the grandma and the parents. I would definitely come back to this place if I come back to Vietnam. They don’t speak English so you will feel very immersed and to communicate, they use perfectly google translate.

The homestay prepared extra beds so there was plenty of room to sleep comfortably. Breakfast served at the table, although not too many dishes, was very suitable for my family's taste. The space was very chill, with many beautiful scenes around the homestay.

Its actually quite nice to walk around early in the morning...

Its actually quite nice to walk around early in the morning before the other tourists arrive, but in reality it is a couple of quite nice by nothing special temples in the main complex, a nothing special temple out in a very scenic valley bewteen karst towers, and a totally uninspiring temple up quite a climb up some steep steps near the top of a hill.

Accept the offer of a motorbike tour at the gate to see it all, otherwise you’ll never find all the locations. Trust the locals. They are trying to make a living sure - as we all are. But you gotta trust that apart from the odd taxi driver, in Vietnam most people ARE NOT trying to rip you off. Yes people offering directions are doing just that like you would at home. And do give some money to the lady monks who hold out their hands when you visit. It is how they survive. Don’t be cheap and mean please! I witnessed some bad white people behaviour here and in Tam Coc and Hoi An. Try not to be an asshole!
