Lovely staff, who were always helpful and eager to assist with our stay. Very clean rooms and good location close to Little Tokyo which in general feels so much safer than most other parts of downtown LA.

American Hotel is located in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts district in Los Angeles, 2.7 km from L.A. Live. STAPLES Center is 13 minutes' drive away from American Hotel.

The hotel is in an excellent location, there are several pubs and a very good brewery nearby. A bit further there is the Japanese district and several well-stocked markets with Japanese food (I recommend it). The metro station is also nearby. The hotel is very pleasant and cozy. The rooms are clean and well-kept and equipped with basic amenities (air conditioning, safe, fridge and TV. Shared bathrooms are also clean and cleaned every day. The staff is very nice, friendly and polite.
