This hotel has everything you might need as a first-timer in New York. It has spacious and cozy rooms, equipped with everything you need and more, such as an empty fridge for your drinks and food, a good hair dryer, clothes iron, and even a sleeping machine with white noise or animal sounds if you need a bit of help to fall asleep. Knowing that I have an iron and an ironing board in the room really helped me relax while packing for my trip. We also had a big umbrella in the closet, as well as super comfy bathrobes and slippers. The view from our room was stunning, and there wasn't much noise, just an occasional siren which was muffled and didn't bother us while we relaxed or slept. We also couldn't hear any of the neighbors! They also provided us with a free Nespresso machine, tea, and coffee pods. The staff was super polite and helpful; they really offered help and went out of their way to let us know we could ask for everything we might need. Such an atmosphere really helped us relax! From the reception, doormen, bartenders, cleaners, and waiters at the bar - everyone was super nice. The location is one of the best in town - you have Times Square and metro stations just a couple minutes away, a 24h open CVS, Whole Foods, Joe's Pizza, Broadway theaters, Bryant Park, and so much more just a couple of steps away from the hotel. The public Library, Summit One Vanderbilt, and Grand Central Station are also very easy and close to walk to. We appreciated the happy hour with a free Aperol spritz every day from 4-6 PM, and it was super refreshing after our busy day of exploring. We also had the opportunity to dine at the AperiBar, and needless to say, the food was fantastic. We had oysters, a pizza, and a steak; everything was heavenly. Their cocktails are also fabulous. We'd absolutely recommend LUMA to everyone who is coming to NY for the first time and wants to have a perfect, smooth base for exploring.

We came to NYC for an anniversary trip and could not have chosen a better hotel. Super clean, comfy beds and pillows. Our room had a coffee maker, we requested a tea kettle and they immediately obliged. The location was unbeatable, you're right on the fifth avenue and literally a 10 min walk to all main attractions (MOMA, Times Square, Broadway, Summit One etc.). Subway station is really close too They don't serve breakfast but have so many cute little bakeries and cafes around that you would really want to try those anyway. Elevators are quite fast. The service was wonderful and staff is absolutely fantastic, always helpful, friendly and greeting you with a smile. We loved every minute of out stay. Thank you for making our trip so special.

This was our second stay already. The location is outstandingly good. Very central but just far enough off all the midtown craze. Close to central park and upper east side. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is great, coffee and water in your room everyday. Value for money is perfect for us given the quality and central location.

Location and room size 38 m2 were what we had in mind while we booked this hotel. We had room cleaning everyday. Very clean always. I was a bit worried it does not require a room card to use the elevator, we felt safe when we observed the lobby, no strange types hanging around. Manhattan is very expensive than we had expected, so it is very good there is Subway, Mac donald and Panda express at the corner, 4 of us could eat one meal around 20 dollars instead of 160 dollars. The small kitchen works well with making a simple sandwich, cornflake breakfast and cupnudler.

The hotel is outstanding — perfectly located on Broadway, surrounded by a wide variety of restaurants, with both Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s very close by, as well as a nearby subway station. The property is extremely comfortable, clean, and safe, and the staff are exceptionally attentive and friendly. My room exceeded all expectations, with an incredibly comfortable bed and a fantastic shower. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Times Square

Alive with billboards and brightly-lit screens, Times Square thrums with energy. Yellow taxis fly past and tourists pause awestruck to snap photos on their phones. The bustle of New York summed up in one crossroads, every element competes for your attention. It may be often recreated for film and TV, but nothing beats seeing this iconic location up-close.

Like being in a Cheech and Chong movie.

Like being in a Cheech and Chong movie. So much weed smoke it smells like someone sprayed marijuana scented air freshener everywhere you go. We walked out of the hotel and were set upon by Ganja men selling hop on bus tickets. We bought them and before we made half the loop our driver side swiped a car and we had to walk back to the hotel. I won’t be going back.

Times Square was everything I hoped for and more.

Times Square was everything I hoped for and more. Even at midnight, it was lit up like daytime. I loved that because it made me feel safe walking around. The massive billboards were mesmerizing, like something out of a movie. Everyone was just being their full, authentic selves, and the energy was so accepting. Even the people who stared were supportive. I randomly photobombed a cute guy and he actually loved it. And yes, I even danced by the red stairs with someone who looked a little down on their luck, and I honestly didn’t care. It was all part of the experience. Times Square has a vibe like no other.

Busy, Beautiful at night time!

Busy, Beautiful at night time! We stayed at the Crown Plaza--right next to the subway! Perfect spot to reach almost anything you want to see in the city in just a few minutes ride. It is mostly shopping--gift shops and retail stores. Broadway is right there as well if you enjoy plays. Eat a good beakfast a Jr. Cheesecake! Theres also a few bars around and good resturants.

The location was excellent. Very close to everywhere we wanted to visit but just outside the hustle and bustle of Times Square so we didn’t experience noise. We made the most of the cooking facilities in our super king room which were very convenient. The bed was super comfortable and in the bathroom the shower water pressure good. The hotel generally was well maintained and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was perfectly adequate with a handy eating/social area.

The location to times square and subway. Port authority bus station across the street make sure to visit the american dream mall from there 10 dollars each way well worth it twenty minutes there 40 on way back due to the traffic coming into the city in the evening. I felt i got a true experience of new york living in the apartment. Burger king and dunkin donuts next door. Felt very safe. Staff were very helpful and was in contact all of the time.

Very clean, spacious and luxurious feel. Very comfortable bed, great coffee machine and excellent shower. The location is great and a short 15 min walk to Times Square, however there is a subway station on the next block, with a short 2 stop subway line to Times Square. Close enough to Times Square to walk, however the area in which the broadway plaza is situated was calm and quieter, the staff were excellent and nothing was too much of an ask. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and family, should they come to New York.

Empire State, Rockefeller, Times Square, Bryant Park, Hudson Yards all walkable from the hotel (if you don’t mind walking!) Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
