The absolute best thing about the hotel is the staff, who consistently went above and beyond to make us comfortable and meet our needs. For example, I was met with a cold bottle of water immediately after walking in after a run, without even asking. High-class service every day. Spacious room & bathroom, with plenty of upgrades to make you feel comfortable (including great AC and strong water pressure). The entire hotel is well-updated and maintained; it’s beautiful. The rooftop terrace alone is enough reason to book Henna Hotel! The property is only a few minutes walk to the mosques, the palace, and the waterfront. Perfect location for an action-packed trip.

Hagia Sophia

In 537 AD, Hagia Sophia began life as a church, before becoming an Ottoman mosque in 1453. The largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years, this majestic building is considered one of the finest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture. Today, you can explore its vast structure from the inside with a visit to the museum that’s now housed within the walls.

Not worth the money to go! Very dissapointing. Also they try to swindle you & upsell on the ticket price from €25 to €50, so you end up paying double for a less than mediocre experience. Avoid at all cost.

Queues, Queues and more queues. But worth it. Do not bother with the AR experience which costs an extra 1250 TL (£25) each. The entrance is roughly £25 to get in if you buy it at the ticket office, make sure you ask for the basic tour otherwise they include the AR experience as a default. Amazing mosaics and beautiful architecture.

This greekorthodox monument, one of the greatest for the christianity worldwide, is questionably managed by the modern Turkish state, after it was recently converted to a mosque (since there are so many of them, I really wonder why) The entrance for the tourists is allowed only at the 2nd floor, missing that way, an amazing perspective of this exceptional temple, that you can have only from the ground floor. You simply get half the pleasure! At least, you can have a glance of the unique mosaics covered by white pieces of cloth, due to religious restrictions. Anyway, don't miss it!

Sadly tourists can only go around the upper level. Previously you could get in on the ground floor and experience the wonderful open space of the huge dome above you. It is still possible to see some of the dome and the structure is very interesting but a slight disappointment. However , it is an amazing old structure. Small number of mosaics still visible. Better and more extensive mosaics at the Kariye Camii if mosaics are of interest.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul. Again ensure proper attire or you have to pay for covering. The interplay of Christianity and the Muslim faith, and neither chose to desicrate the other. Just be aware that you will only be able to visit the upper section unless you're a practising muslim.

The hotel has a perfect location in the center of the old city, close to Sultanahmed square and Hagia Sophia. It has a private parking in a quiet street. The staff is very polite and at the reception 24h. The rooms are clean with towels, slippers and shower accessories. The beds are comfortable with two soft pillows. The area for the breakfast is with amazing view to the sea. The lady who prepares the breakfast is very kind and sunny person (Elif, I wish you all the best). The tea was really good.

I highly recommend this hotel. Old but very comfortable hotel. Cleanliness acceptable. Staff very comfortable and helpful. Very willing and helps with all the information you need. I will just mention Serdar, an exceptional guy. The price is almost an insult, is so low. The hotel is in the immediate vicinity of the main tourist attractions such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, etc. All within a very short walking distance.

The hotel is clean, and the staff are very nice. They have two cafes downstairs, one is Gloria Jeans and one is their own. Very nice atmosphere in the hotel. They have a swimming pool, sauna and Turkish baths. It’s about 15 min walk to Süleymaniye mosque and 30 mins to Hagia Sophia/Blue Mosque. Seven min walk to the nearest tram station.

It is in a central location in downtown Istanbul, within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc. We also loved the Turkish breakfast and the rooftop with its Bosphorus view, and we admired the hotel's old, traditional wooden house. As cat lovers, we found this city to be a paradise, with cats everywhere — they're so cute and you can pet and feed them.
