The property is brand new, spotlessly clean, in a quiet location, with good and comfortable facilities. The hosts are friendly and helpful. I had a motorbike so the journey into town was easy - it’s around 20 minutes walk each way.

The rooms are all spectacular. They are clean, have plenty of amenities and the beds are super confortable. The property owners are an awesome husband and wife who make you feel very welcome and who even go so far as to drive you to the bus terminal when your stay ends. I have stayed in many hotels that in Thailand and this place competes with the ones in Bangkok.

Very good hotel, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The rooms and bathrooms are big, very clean and modern. The location is perfect, close to many restaurants and right next to the bridge. They have bicycles for free. You can organize many activities through the hotel (including a Thai massage in the room for only 200 baht).

Very quiet location, a bit outside the main town but only a short stroll from the bridge on the river Kwai and a train stop (we took the train back to Bangkok Thonburi from there). Very nice garden and hotel, our room was lovely, very stylish. The staff are very efficient and helpful, and very kind. The buffet breakfast is excellent value and what a pleasure to start the day with a tasty breaky with such a view of the river! Pool area is pleasant and very well maintained, there are loungers and umbrellas as well as bean bags so ample space to relax and enjoy. We asked the receptionists to help us book a car with driver for the visits and activities we had planned and we couldn't be happier with the service: our driver was just perfect, very discreet but also willing to share information when needed, careful and kind. The price was reasonable for such a quality of service, especially compared to prices in Europe... I also booked an aromatherapy massage and I can honestly say it was one of the best I ever had, total bliss.

If you take the train to Nam Tok sit on the left going out...

If you take the train to Nam Tok sit on the left going out and the right coming back to get the best view of the viaduct. Get on at Kanchanaburi station to have pick of seats going out. Get off at the bridge station on the return journey to walk across it.

A piece of WW11history forever lives in Kanchanaburi.

A piece of WW11history forever lives in Kanchanaburi. Everyone who visits Thailand should make an effort to walk the trail where POW's worked relentlessly in poor conditions, overwhelming heat and fed a daily bowl of rice. Shame on the country who persisted with these inhumane atrocities. Those who remain shall be in our hearts forever.

Take the train from Bangkok Thon Buri trai station.

Take the train from Bangkok Thon Buri trai station. You get there with the riverboat and walk across. The trainride is excellent. About 2 h. through non tourist areas and dirt cheap. Buy a few snacks at the market before leaving. Book a nice room near the main street and have a full english breakfast at one of the bars. You can visit the war cemetery and the bridge on foot or use a tuk tuk. Have a walk on the market and at the budhist temple across tge river
