Sensational desert setting with a short drive to the spectacular Fish River Canyon. Very comfortable rooms with buffet breakfast and dinner. Spectacular sunset walk to the top of their mountain and if you are a competent 4 wheel driver, their self drive, 4 hour safari is well worth the effort for the scenery and wildlife.

With garden views, Gondwana Canyon Roadhouse is set in Stamprivier and has a restaurant, an ATM, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. Free WiFi is offered.

The campsite pitch was enormous with a tree for shade, a braai an electric point, and a tap with clean water. The ablution block was immaculate, and we were 2 minutes away from a stunning swimming pool and the bar/restaurant. The site is quirky and decorated with lots of car memorabilia. The staff could not be more charming and helpful. The site also has rooms/chalets that were outside our budget. There is a hiking trail around the site, and it's reasonably close ( a drive, circa 15 kms?) to the Hobas viewing point for Fish River Canyon.

With far-reaching views over Fish River Canyon just below, the private chalets at this property have rooftop windows. Each has an outdoor shower, and an outdoor pool is available.

Superb location with views of the canyon. Loved our stay and wished we could if stayed another night. The hot water bottle was a perfect touch to the very cold night.
