They did a fantastic job of restoring the Blue Mansion. The entire property is gorgeous. Our room was clean and spacious with a comfortable King bed, and well appointed period furnishings. It felt so special to be in such a historic place and the staff were friendly and helpful. They served breakfast in the courtyard with made to order offerings (the pancake with salted coconut and burnt sugar sauce was excellent). We also loved listening to the guzheng performance in the courtyard during the evening. The only regret was we managed to only book one night(it was fully booked).

I returned to the E&O as a guest after 10 years. My room was in the Heritage wing which was quieter than the new Victoria annex that was bustling with tourists. The room was spacious and the bed very comfy. The view from the pool on the 6th floor of the Victoria annex is spectacular. Breakfast in the Sarkies restaurant was abundant with a good selection of food. Over the weekend it can however become crowded and noisy due to the many families with kids. E&O’s location is very convenient as it is just a couple of minutes away from the Blue Mansion and the UNESCO Heritage area of George Town. I regretted that I could stay for only two nights.

From start to finish, everything was perfect, from the staff on the door, the very capable personnel at reception, the individual floor floors-and-room staff, those at the beautifully maintained pool too, the spacious and tastefully furnished rooms, the bright and airy breakfast room with its attentive service personnel, nothing beyond their capabilities, a welcoming receptionist and chef, both ready and capable of meeting and adapting to every request, all this through to help on the ground floor with directions, weather forecasts, and planning suggestions. Penang is the ultimate winner as The Millen just askd to be re-visted. We'll certainly try. Congratulations to all involved. Thank you.

We were a family of four travelling on a road trip from Johor and Penang was our last stop. We were pleasantly surprised by the ease of checking-in and the room! The size of our room was huge! Two king size beds and there was a sofa bed to relax. The bathroom was big, there was a mirror light in the bathroom mirror, and the shower area was also big enough to turn around. The amenities included were also great. There was a huge tv for my dad to watch news everyday. There was a long study/work table with desk lamp for anyone travelling for work. Overall, it was a great satisfactory experience.

Nam Keng Hotel was exceptional in the following areas for my recent solo stay: 1) room was big and comfortable and well equipped with the necessary amenities 2) the front desk staff, Ms Priya and Mr Tharan were always on hand to make sure my stay was comfortable. I managed to follow some of Mr Tharan’s excellent recommendations on where to eat in Georgetown. 3) Location was within walking distance to all the good food in Georgetown.

The space is bright and airy with everything new and functioning well, so I extended my stay instead of moving to a different place. Besides all the great amenities and the beautiful views of Penang Hills, which I mentioned in my previous review, free Netflix shows are also available for you to enjoy, even though I don’t have my own Netflix subscription. I will highly recommend booking this place if you’re in the area.

Hotel is in a good location near big temple and Penang hill with lots of good food options nearby. The rooms are a bit tired looking inside and could do with a refurb, also there’s no smoking signs everywhere but people are clearly still smoking in the rooms as you can smell it in the carpet and it sometimes comes through the bathroom vent. But the beds were comfy and huge width ways but small length ways, if your over 5ft 6 your feet will be hanging off the bed..!

The location was great, I walked to penang hill fenicular and also looked around the temple. Their were plenty of food options nearby too. The bed was very comfortable and I slept really well.

To me personally for the price it was very fair and a very good deal. The person running the place Irene was a fantastic host even got us a new night light as purs we broken. Very friendly and convenient spot to stay in if you are looking to go see Kek Lok Si, Penang Hill as the temple is just behind the stay and is very near to a bus stop which takes you into town.

This place is out of my expectation!! I booked a room for 4 with such a reasonable price since my plan is visiting penang hill early in the morning!! Nice double decker double bed with huge clean toilet to accommodate us!! A Tv is bonus... This lodge is surrounded with left n right food stall!! Nice food too...i had try both.... This lodge is super clean n look new .... happy with my 2 night stay here!!! It also has a fridge n water dispenser!!

The hotel ws ideally located near Penang Hill. The market , food stalls was just outside the hotel. The staff at the hotel were friendly, helpful and responded well to our issues. There was ample parking for hotel guest even though the parking was open to the public. The view from the hote was plesant especially at night. The area was quiet during the nght with minimum traffic so very peaceful sleep.
