GermanyWe spent 2 nights here and visited Calakmul, which we liked a lot for the maya buildings and equally for the fauna and flora of the huge jungle.
The hotel is of pretty architecture, very airy with a high roof over the lounge and restaurant. We played billard and table foot and there is also a table tennis and a gym.
There are 2 rooftop pools, we were told one is only deep enough to swim, which we did twice , once in the pouring rain, which was great fun. The pool was great for swimming. To shower you walk back to your room and some did so wrapped in their towels, not bothering that one had to walk through the restaurant.
The heavy rain and the open architecture of some corridors lead to some work for the staff in getting it dry again, which they did really well.
The friendliness of the staff was really great.
The open restaurant with tables on the balcony is very charming.
We had breakfast once, which was good and dinner twice, where we liked the Yucatan dishes and strongly recommend the banana
pudding. The service was perfect.
The room had a very large bed, cupboard, sofa, balcony with tables and chairs, good shower, double sink, safe, small fridge and mire cupboards.
We can absolutly recommend a stay here for your visit of Calakmul.
