Absolutely everything. Krishna is an amazing host. From the moment my husband and I arrived we were treated with so much warmth and he made us feel at home. The room is spacious with a private bathroom, and there is also a common area to chill or have food. The location is great because at night time it is super quiet and we slept super well. No noises no disturbance. It is just a little walk to town, but nearby there are great coffee shops and restaurants. I would love to add something else I think is very important. Unfortunately on our second day in Nuwara, Ditwah cyclon came over and devastated the whole country. We couldn't continue our trip and had to stay in Nuwara. Thanks to Krishna hospitality we had a roof to stay warm and safe, we had homemade food and someone who kept us informed and protected. So I can only be grateful to have met this wonderful person and to share time with him. He went beyond and above to make my husband and I feel comfortable. His generosity and hospitality will always be one of the best memories I had of Sri Lanka. There are no words to express my gratitude. All I can tell is this is maybe not a fancy hotel, but it is the best accommodation you could stay in Nuwara because the people in charge are truly amazing. By the way, his wife and his little baby are so friendly too, and we were very happy to meet them. Thank you!!!!

The welcome into the hotel was fabulous, we received a flower garland, some tea, a massage and a tour of the hotel, including meeting the chef personally. Our room was beautifully decorated and being from England, it felt like a home from home for us. The plunge pool/ sauna was fantastic and we were grateful we could book this area to have it to ourselves. We had the 6 course tasting menu for dinner both nights which was about £40 per person - unbelievable value for the food that was served. Michelin star level food at dinner and breakfast, everything tasted divine.

Honestly, this was the best accomodation I've been in Srí Lanka. Not because of luxury things or other stuff, but because of the family, the owners. It's near to the jungle, absolutely calmy in the night, little bit cooler so good for sleeping. Owners welcomed me with a pot of the. I could even use their kitchen for preparing my breakfast. Roshan helped me with everything. Room was very clean, nice bed. Thank you Roshan for your service! I definitely recommend this and definitely come back when I'll come back to Nuwara Eliya.

The space was simple, brand new, cozy, and beautifully designed, it felt very cozy from the moment we arrived. The food from the in-house restaurant was incredible, full of flavour and made with so much care. What truly stood out was how warmly we were welcomed. Our immediate family had planned this trip after such a long time apart, and Croft Cottage gave us the perfect setting to reconnect. It wasn’t just a holiday, it was a heartfelt experience shared with loved ones. There’s truly no better way to spend quality time together. Highly recommended!

I understand that this is a man made lake. A nice n easy stroll by the side of the lake with plenty of small shops at one side selling drinks n snacks. Different type of boat rides are offered to visitors to the lake or just take a leisurely stroll by the side, your choice.

If you get up early you can see the hills reflected in...

If you get up early you can see the hills reflected in glassy water - but after about 8.30am it all gets churned up by motor boats and jet skis racing up and down as Sri Lankan families enjoy their days out. You can walk around the lake but keep your initial entry ticket as you have to pass through repeat entrances and may get charged multiple times.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our recent visit to Nuwara Eliya. The room was clean and comfortable with an excellent view of the surrounding fields/ Gregory Lake. The staff of this hotel are absolute gems! They are kind, courteous and extremely helpful. They couldn’t do more for you during your stay; they even looked after our driver. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning.

Very well maintain and management .. Television with living Area , very clean bathroom .. Its very near to Gregory Lake. walking 5 mins. View from room was also good. However they should clean the windows for better view. The backside view of tea plantations was not visible due to unclean windows. However the cars cannot reach the hotel parking as the slope is steep. The housekeeping were all good and fast. Hot Water 24/7. Breakfast also good with good taste, mostly srilankan.,

It’s a cute hotel, very close to the main town and market. Even Victoria Garden and the Gregory Lake is a walking distance from the hotel. Satish who manages the hotel is very nice. The day I did an early trek, they even packed me a breakfast. He also helped me book a cab.

Very good place, a short walk from Gregory lake and some tea gardens nearby. Dulani the owner there was very sweet. Nice wooden bunk beds, quite comfortable. They served delicious breakfast too. Nanu Oya train station about 4-5 km, you can get a bus easily from a nearby junction about 800 metres from the hostel. Would highly recommend!

The view is amazing, peaceful location and the staff are always available to help if need be. The hotel is about a 15 minutes walk to town and 5 minutes from Gregory lake, we particularly enjoyed the quiet location. The breakfast was good and delivered to the room each morning, eggs, omelette, bread, fruit and tea. We had an apartment with 2 rooms, perfect for our family of 4 and plenty of space.

Staff were all exceptionally professional, pleasant and attentive. Everywhere was very clean, despite the weather outside, the hotel had a warm homely feeling, nice cosy longe and bar areas. Nice location just outside town , if weather better could have explored the forest and not too far to walk to Gregory lake approx 1km or so.

The hotel was really worth the price paid. Location at an easily accessible area close to the town and other cites such as Gregory lake, moon plains etc. The food was exceptional and the rooms were clean with heaters. Hot water was available at all times during the day.
