Hotels near Plain of Jars: Site 1, Phonsavan

Kong, his wife, and his daughter were great hosts. The rooms have hot water, and extra blankets for the cold nights. We spent every night by the campfire chatting with Kong, drinking beers, and talking about his home country. If you ever come to Phonsavan, this is the place to go.

The owners and family were very welcoming and attentive to us. They were gracious hosts and offered good insight into future plans within laos. Would stay there again absolutely.

The guesthouse is located in a beautiful and quiet area, slightly off center. Plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from if you walk for 10-15 min. The owner, Mr. Abay personally picked me up from the airport. He also took me (and a couple other guests) on a guided tour of the Plain of Jars (which I'd highly recommend). He also gave me plates, spoons and forks for food I had picked up at the local market. Mr. Khay at the front desk is eagerto help, should you need anything. My room and bathroom was clean and spacious. Wifi was surprisingly good. The staff was sweet and always greet you with a smile. Wish I could have stayed longer.
