The location is 2 minutes from the station and a few minutes from the historical houses. The room was big and with a pleasant view over the station and the mountains. There was a sliding wall between one bed and the other two, which was really good to read before going to sleep without bothering others. There were a lot of free drinks in the in the fridge. Washing/dryer worked really well. Also a lot of products available in the bathrooms.

This is a fantastic little hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The downstairs area is beautiful with drinks available free of charge at all times, and board games to sit and play. We also used the private bath which was lovely. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The shower was good and there was a little heater in the bathroom as well as a bigger one in the bedroom so you could get everywhere cosy. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was very good value for money. It was a short walk to the historic area and the station is about 10 mins walk. There are cafes and restaurants very close to the hotel. We would defiantly stay here again.

Takayama Old Town

Takayama flourished as a wealthy trading town during the Edo Period, and today its Old Town is one of Japan’s best-preserved. Its cobbled lanes are lined with 17th-century houses, shrines and sake breweries, which open their doors to anyone keen for a taste of local life from bygone days.
