The location is great...5 minutes walk from the Ufizi Museum, Duomu at 8 minutes walk, dozens of great restaurants at walk distance.... The staff was really thoughtful and even had a portuguese speaking person at the hotel reception. The room was incredible, spacious and with free amenities (apart from alcohol).

Uffizi Gallery

What makes Florence the epicentre of art? All of it; but specifically the Uffizi Gallery. Its collections cover the ages, but its darlings will always be Renaissance born. You won’t find a better Art History 101 refresher. Hours wilt away inside this U-shaped mansion. The Birth of Venus tops many a best-of list. Better book tickets in advance – the masterworks cause quite a queue.

The Uffizi Galleries are world-renowned for their impressive collection of Renaissance paintings. You can admire masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Caravaggio and Giotto, among many others. The highlights include Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, among other beautiful works. But there is one painting you should not miss: Filippo Lippi’s Madonna with the Child and Two Angels (1465), also known as Lippina. The softness of the Madonna’s expression and the transparency of her veil are truly remarkable. The model is believed to be Lucrezia Buti, a nun whom Lippi later brought into his home and with whom he had two children. It is also worth noting that Filippo Lippi (1406–1469) was Botticelli’s teacher, which makes it fascinating to see their works in the same museum. Overall, the Uffizi is a wonderful gallery filled with extraordinary paintings an absolute must-visit in Florence.

My favorite spot in the entire world. Buy the tickets sooner and prepare to spend at least half of your day inside. If you cannot afford a guided tour, they have an app with a few works contextualized.

It is complicated to buy the tickets ahead of time, to get in the right line, and to get the audio to work. After you get in the art highlights are way too crowded. Wonder art made unattractive by poor organization.

Get tickets for 8:15 AM, go with nothing but your camera and don't check your coat. Head directly to the Botticellis, and then to the Da Vinci's, Raphaels and the Michelangelo to enjoy them without the crowd, and then double back for the Gothic paintings. Do NOT make the mistake of pausing to view sculptures on the entrance level. Do NOT get distracted by the Gothic masters. Speed walk to the Botticellis and then the Ninja Turtles or you'll be viewing them across crowds jostling for selfies.

Packed with stunning art work including “Spring” and “The birth of Venus” by Botticelli. We looked at most of the works and spent 3 1/2 hours there. The queues were long, I’d advise prebooking your tickets.

1. DEFINITELY get "skip the line" tickets. 2. Don't forget that you still have to wait in line to exchange the "skip the line" tickets for the admission tickets. 3. Don't forget you then have to wait in line with all the other "skip the line" ticket holders to actually get in. Plan accordingly and enjoy the FABULOUS art!

The apartment is ideally located on the third floor (staircase) 250 meters from the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio, and 80 meters from Piazza della Signora. We traveled by car (small car) and parked our car 300 meters away in a garage behind the Palazzo Vecchio.

It’s history, one of the old palazzo’s with a medieval hall for dining. The location was perfect, near Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. Room services was good- clean towels everyday. Breakfast was good, lots to choose from. Roof terrace with lovely views of the Duomo and the town hall. En-suite was lovely, very modern. We booked a room and had a 3 room suite plus en-suite for the same price - what’s not to like!
