The accommodation exceeded our expectations. Most accommodation in Italy has an issue with cleanliness and hygiene, and we are very sensitive to this, but this hotel exceeded all our expectations. Plenty of parking spaces in the area monitored by cameras, very nice and helpful staff, clean rooms, bathrooms and comfortable beds.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cologne! The location was spectacular, just a few minutes from the sanctuary, exactly what I was looking for. The food was amazing, public transport was conveniently really close, and the staff were all so kind and welcoming. Highly recommended!

There are 3 churches- side by side.

There are 3 churches- side by side. The middle church is where Padre Pio prayed the Mass daily (4 hours) and received Confessions (16 hours a day) . The “Chiesa Antica” was the there are the Madonna della Grazie image and many incredible mosaics, including one of Saint Joseph and o e of Saint Michel. Don’t miss the Padre Puo museum and a visit to the “Crucifixo”. There were many places with special papers in order to write a letter to Padre Pio, asking for his intersecion. The new church is huge. In the lower floor, Padre Pio body is in exposition for prayers.

It was a small family-run hotel, with a next-door restaurant/pizzeria owned by another family member. Staff was friendly and helpful. It had basic amenities. Wi-fi signal was strong, even in the upper rooms. It was a short walk to the Padre Pio shrine. We especially liked the "free parking."

The location was excellent. Close to the Padre Pio shrine. Enjoyed the outdoor restaurant as well. Food was great! The hotel helped us in getting a taxi ride back from the shrine. The staff also gave us accurate directions that helped us explore San Giovanni. Antonio helped me well in correcting the reversal needed after we left for Rome. He was very pleasant over the phone and courteous in his email style of writing. This is a hotel you can trust because of Antonio. Always look for Antonio and you will be in good hands.

Stone's throw away from Padre Pio Shrine. Only you need to have a good and strong legs. As you have to walk up hill to the Shrine...but probably the hotel can organize a transport to go up.. Staff very friendly and accommodating esp Clara in reception
