Check-In was perfect - it is actually a self-check-in and self-check-out. We got a code for the room by email and that's it. We haven't met anyone from the staff (only at breakfast).
Breakfast was perfect - all the usual popular food, whatever one needs.

I do believe the hike from the waterfall is my most favorite...
I do believe the hike from the waterfall is my most favorite "green" hike of all time. (versus Sedona's red rock trails!!) If you can stand going up all of those stairs, try and plan at least a few hours to walk as much of the trail as you can. It is worth every moment!

The best waterfall in whole of iceland.
The best waterfall in whole of iceland. We could go so close to the waterfall and get totally drenched. That was an amazing and memorable experience. Very next to the falls are the steps to go to the top and view the falls from there. Loved it.

This charming hotel, set in a building that was once a school, really impressed us with its history and character. The furniture is simple and a bit old, but everything is impeccably clean and very well maintained. Despite its age, the place feels welcoming and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with a wide variety of options. Its location is also excellent, just a short distance from the beautiful Skógafoss waterfall. Overall, a memorable and pleasant stay.

I had a fantastic stay at Skogar Hostel! The location is perfect—just a short walk from the stunning Skógafoss waterfall. The hostel is cozy, clean, and well-maintained, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Communication was okay, and everything was well-organised. The kitchen was well-equipped, which made it easy to prepare meals after a day of exploring. I’d highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in South Iceland.

Our room was not so big but clean. Also, at that moment we seems to be the only guests and the staff proposed to bring special breakfast for us or have it in their other hotel even closer to Skogafoss, that was super nice:) and breakfast was delicious!
The most satisfying I assume is location, almost at Skogafoss waterfall!

Hotels in Iceland are limited but we are glad we decided to stay in this tiny town. The true drawcard here is the location literally right next door to the Skogafoss waterfall, you can just wander over and be at the waterfall in two minutes after breakfast. We visited it twice in the one day we were here, because we could. Also highly recommend the Kvernufoss walk and waterfall in the same time!

Hotel has an amazing location and only for that it can be rate super high. it's just 5 mins away from Skogafoss waterfall.
Room was small but big enough to have 2 suitcases around.
Tea/coffee machine is in the corridor, together with a selection of tea bags. Nice touch.
Big, spacious bathroom and a shower (warm water stinks with sulfur - typical for Iceland).

The hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. The location was fantastic, just a few minutes from Skógafoss waterfall and less than 30 minutes from Seljalandsfoss waterfall. The breakfast was good and what you would expect from a hotel in this price range (no complaints). The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Staff is super nice and helpful, very clean and cozy rooms, excellent location- next to the most beautiful places in South of Iceland. Amazing Skogafoss waterfall just around the corner.
