We have stayed in many hotels and have worked in the hospitality industry ourselves for several years, so what a pleasure it was to spend two nights in an establishment where everything was simply perfect. From the moment we arrived at check-in, we felt right at home. The Front of House Manager (I won’t mention his name for fear of misspelling it, but he will recognise himself 😊) as well as the concierge are truly great assets to the Halyard. The room was perfect: clean, quiet (despite the many pubs nearby), and the bedding was incredibly cosy. We also appreciated having the amenities replaced every day. Breakfast with live cooking was excellent — a real English breakfast! The service was relaxed, friendly, and very professional. Reception answered all our requests with remarkable efficiency. Congratulations to the whole team. We will be back for sure! Liverpool is truly underrated — a beautiful city to discover on foot, with wonderfully warm people… and of course, its pubs! --

Looked wonderful, a huge area, lots of lovely trees, a lake is all we saw from our taxi. It rained solidly through our short stay and we did not have serviceable rain-gear or enough time for exploring the park.

Sefton Park in Liverpool is arguably the best known and most...

Sefton Park in Liverpool is arguably the best known and most loved by locals. Classified as a Grade One listed park by English Heritage, the magnificent 200-acre Park looks like a natural landscape rather than a man-made park. In spring the sight of millions of golden daffodils around the lake draws residents from across the city and carpets of bluebells give an impression of rural permanence. The park features many distinctive curved paths and driveways and beech and other indigenous British trees abound. Amongst the park's many features are a boating lake, replica statues of Eros and Peter Pan and a café. The park is also home to the famous Palm House, a fabulous glass-panelled building that has been restored to its former glory.

The manager, Hassan, gave a warm welcome after I had spent a community open day in a freezing church in Everton. He explained and demonstrated everything, eg the pass code to the door, instead of assuming it would be obvious. The location, which I would describe as Sefton Park, is first class and perfect for my breakfast meeting the next day at Bam Boo in Lark Lane. I would say that the hotel’s proximity to Lark Lane could be a big feature of marketing it.

I booked a single room, on arrival the owner upgraded me to a double. He was very helpful and booked me a taxi to attend the wedding reception I was going to. The room was clean and very comfortable, had a lovely hot bath with the complementary shower gel and there was shampoo. Facilities to make coffee and tea. At half the price of the larger branded hotels, very good value for money, and the room overlooked the lovely Sefton Park. The owner gave me a telephone number to contact him with any queries or concerns.

Location - close to Lark Lane, Sefton Park, bus and train, supermarket The area was quiet and seemed safe. Two full bathrooms - good for a larger group. Good quality duvets, covers and sheets. Plenty of towels In general very clean - even with a few cobwebs here and there. Games
