Situated directly in the beautiful historic square in the heart of the Old Las Palmas, Plaza de Santa Ana, literally just a few steps away from the eponymous cathedral, and practically around the corner from the Casa de Colón, this boutique hotel generously gives its guests the royal treatment. I stayed in room 28, above the ground floor, which was large and elegant, with massive windows and a dizzyingly high ceiling. The little restaurant where I had my breakfast looked like an art gallery with its tastefully designed tables, chairs and tableware, old-fashioned cupboards, and a collection of antique vases on display. The view from the rooftop terrace was nothing short of spectacular. Befitting the hotel's name, the staff were incredibly cordial indeed. The enchanting Playa de Las Canteras, covered with its world-renowned fine golden sand, is about 5.5 km away.

Very comfortable and quiet hotel. Mattresses were most comfortable I’ve ever slept on! Hotel is low-key and very quiet. Very little noise from other guests and/or outside. Elena and her niece are both really professional and friendly. Lovely welcome on the day we arrived! Fabulous shower in the bathroom which I will daydream about back in the land of no-power showers (!) We asked for a kettle and between the kettle and the fridge we were sorted for tea and breakfast things which we could eat outside on the terrace. I have chronic knee pain and asked for an extra pillow (if you know, you know!) and received exactly what I needed the same day. Plenty of space for two of us traveling. Electronic shutters (dark and cool!) in the room. Lovely unexpected gift of wine and chocolates the night before we departed. No-stress check-in AND they let us leave our stuff there and have a shower until 5pm the day we checked out. Also, the airport bus didn’t arrive the day we left and Elena answered my emergency text with offers of help as we scrambled for a taxi. Really amazing people to stay with. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the beach but if you head towards the Plaza d’Espana it's a pleasant walk (don’t go the Marina side). However the distance also means it’s quieter than the Playa de las Canteras hotels! You're also a quick walk away from the Marina (try Amara and Pier 19) and a longer walk or short bus ride to the old town area and you’re on the main bus routes to all three destinations. Very competitive pricing as well. No downside!
