Beautiful room with all the features I could need for a short stay. From the most comfortable bed to gorgeous toiletries to Nespresso coffee machine to built-in USB (B and C) charging ports. I especially appreciated the complimentary beers in the fridge - they were gluten-free and as a coeliac this was amazing! Honestly I wish I could have stayed longer, especially as I didn’t get to try the highly-rated food in the pub downstairs. Staff were friendly. Amazing location within free tram zone and directly across from the markets and Market Land coffee. Strongly recommend staying here, especially over the bigger name hotels which are more expensive but with worse service and need updating.

We stayed in the Queensbury suite . Upstairs from the main hotel area. Noise was never a problem. We were surprised to discover we actually had 3 rooms joined with an arch in the suite so felt very spacious , large bedroom with a long bench perfect to put our bags on, well appointed facilities, air cond in main bedroom, fan in sitting room. Convenient to have wonderful dinner downstairs.?

Flemington Racecourse

Flemington Racecourse has been a horse racing hotspot since the 1840s. This legendary venue is best known for hosting the Melbourne Cup – nicknamed ‘the race that stops a nation’. The city all but shuts down on race day, as 120,000-strong crowds throng the trackside to follow the action and show off their finest fashions.

Next Melbourne Cup I would simply purchase general entry tickets $199 asthevElms VIP tickets where over valued due to poor track viewing( their elevated viewing stand consisted of a deck up 5 stairs from ground level where you could see jockeys helmets on a 10n corner of racetrack. Also we ( I mean 8 other guests not with me that I met on day) had to nearly physically remove a free welcome cocktail from the bar as well as forfeit our included $30 drinks and food Boucher as it would not scan and the bar also did not accept cash. Really poor knowledge and direction on day given by staff to wherevto initially obtain the welcome drink and absolutely NO clue or advice to help any of us to claim our $30 VOUCHER. ThecVIP ticket vost $350 for open air no cover in rain deck a meter of ground. Sad. Need tovaddress this with the ACCC. Thank goodness we were all resilient people and decided not to allow this experience to ruin a fabulous day out as we danced the day away and had many laughs and a few small wins on the track.

So beautiful however wear comfortable shoes. Take an umbrella if the weather looks like it's going to rain, because it most definitely will or take sunscreen as the sun may burn 😂 even when it's cloudy

Melbourne cup day is exciting.

Melbourne cup day is exciting. We booked seating , however the weather and the view from our seats wasn't the best. As a older person, if I were to go again, I would pay extra to book seating in one of the glassed grandstands with a meal included. The spectacle of the horses and the colour is amazing.

We lined up for an hour and half to get drinks. The number of patrons on the day is expected - the venue is poor at catering to crowds this size. Also significantly lacks any shade or protection from elements down near lawn.
