Royal Island Resort & Spa is located in Maldives’ Baa Atoll. This tropical Island overlooks the Indian Ocean and offers free Wi-Fi, a Spa and a peaceful white sandy beaches.

Built with wooden materials, Royal Island’s villas feature a private patio with sitting area and views of the Indian Ocean. Each room has a TV and an en suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower. The resort is well kept and is great quality given the costs. It’s not of course the luxurious resort you can find (at a much higher cost) in some other atolls, but the rooms are nice and cozy, they get cleaned TWICE per day and the staff is friendly and very helpful. Every room has its little private beach area where you can sunbathe, read or enjoy the shade of palm trees. The biggest surprise was the FOOD. We had an all inclusive deal and we (a group of spoiled Italians) were expecting less than average food (especially given the price was really good for the all inclusive - booked a few months in advance though). Instead, we found that breakfast, lunch and dinners were one better than the other each day. Everyday the buffet menu would change, including local specialties, Indian specialties, Asian specialties (even fresh sushi on a couple of occasions!), always some Italian options (good for young kids especially as there were “safe bets” like pasta, rice and all). The breakfast was great, you could choose fruit and sweets or savoury (with eggs done your way on the spot). Lunch had always vegetarian options, meat and fish (sometimes grilled on the spot), with a great selection of desserts - same goes for dinner. We were really impressed by the amount of choice, the quality of the food and the service was amazing (each table had its own dedicated assistant).

The units at the resort come with air conditioning, a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a safety deposit box and a private bathroom with a bidet, free toiletries and a hairdryer. Every room includes a coffee machine, while certain rooms will provide you with a kitchenette with a fridge. Guest rooms will provide guests with a wardrobe and a kettle.

The accommodation offers a hot tub. You can play billiards, table tennis, and darts at NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort. We LOVED Reethi Beach! It’s incredibly beautiful! Denise the manager is amazing and so are Hud and Amu in the dive shop, Nadish at the main bar and last but not least the so fun, so warm Rauhl at the Sunset Bat! Such a magic place!

Staff is able to converse in English, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Thai and Mandarin Chinese. Dusit Thani was a real treat, and was the perfect tonic after an intense 12 months of work. Snorkelling at the UNESCO biosphere reserve was a true highlight. Shout out to the staff who were all wonderful, especially the footballers at the market. Great to see the organised soccer matches for staff at nightfall - makes you think that staff are well looked after which contributes positively to the overall experience. It was also nice to see John the General Manager getting around the tables at dinner time to speak to the residents - it was a nice personal touch. Accommodation, food, the amenities - all amazing, and cycling around the island turned out to be a whole lot of fun. We will return!

Shoutout to the staff who accommodate and made our trip more memorable. especially to these sir and ma'am: santoshi julieta jennifer mj aryani jegan and to the staff who served and welcomed us everytime in the Cowrie Restaurant.

The island is amazing and picture perfect and the houses and facilities are very well designed and well maintained. Our house master Yousra was an angel, she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed even before we ask for it! Do not worry about leaving important items behind because whatever it is she will get it for you in no time.
