We stayed here as a stopover during the Kumano Kodo. What a wonderful stay! Great place, the common area is well-equipped, and the private onsen (three in total) is absolutely the best after a day of hiking. Yunomine Onsen is a lovely little village. Highly recommend!

Ekoin Temple is a stunning piece of architecture and the rooms are absolutely wonderful. Despite the winter cold, we were able to keep the room warm with the provided heater. I loved the bathroom, very clean and comfortable and beautiful design. The futons were comfortable, service kind and attentive and the food was delicious. One night was way too short!

Perfect stay, on my way on Kumano Kodo. This place is perfectly located to have a one-night stop between Takijiri and Hongu. Ike is a very welcoming host, and speaks very well English! He and his wife are two great cookers, as I had the chance to try their dinner/breakfast/luck box. I truly recommend! Thanks a lot! :)

The atmosphere, the ceremony offered and the opportunity practice Shakyo was something unique and that I highly value. A beautiful experience that I recommend to whoever wants to experience the life in a Buddhist monastery.

Everything about our stay was just perfect. From being picked up at the train station, delicious homemade meals with records playing in the background, a beautifully appointed home, friendly and helpful hosts, riding through the countryside on electric bikes and being driven to & picked up from Koyasan. Such a special experience.

The reception by the monks was delightful, and you could tell they were happy to have us. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner - the best vegan food I've had. We also got to take part in the monks morning ceremony, including burning wood chips in an incense bowl, chanting the heart mantra with the monks and being told the story of the temple. This was available in both japanese and english. We were also allowed to walk around (and take pictures) of their sacred hall, which was incredibly beautiful and rich in history and culture. A true delight!

Very good location! Close to the station as well as multiple restaurants. The owner was also very kind and accommodating. I left something in the bathroom after checkout and one of their staff was so kind and came all the way to the station to look for me. Absolutely recommend this place!

Super cute Japanese style rooms. Very convenient and very near bus stops to go at the main attractions. The hotel is located between the main attractions. The hotel is very Japanese mixed Indian style. A lovely mix! The hosts are lovely and helpful: they lent us an umbrella cause it was raining hard. The Indian restaurant inside the hotel is delicious!! They provide towels and slippers. Despite the very affordable price, you can enjoy bathing in a tiny but nice onsen room open 24/7. Beds super super comfortable!!!!

So beautiful and serene. Lovely one-night stay. Cute rooms (Japanese / Monk style); quiet place with a reasonable number of guests. Peaceful setting, well maintain. Enjoyed the hot baths. Vegetarian meals (very enjoyable). The Monk spoke a really good English. The morning religious service was a really good experience This was by far my favourite area of my trip around Japan. The area is so calm and relaxed and the temples beatiful.

Very nice capsule stay. I had trouble to find out entrance to THE S3 as the entrance has different hotel name.... And lady from shopping centrum must lead me (arigato). :- ) When I arrived nobody was there so I have onsen/bath for myself. Nice. Capsule is spacy, comfy with little locker cabinet for valuable things. It is no speak area inside so very quiet place.

Incredible dinner and breakfast. The temple is beautiful, the room is comfortable, and the bath is very relaxing. The monks go out of their way to make you feel welcome and provide you with an opportunity to take part and be able to see their faith.

We stayed in a traditional Japanese room, which was spacious and comfortable. We loved the house and it felt very traditional, with a lovely lounge to enjoy after a long walk. Staff is so helpful and really nice.

The setting of the temple was amazing and we're very happy to have had the opportunity to experience the Shingon of life. The service we received from every Monk was exceptional and faultless. The traditional tatami mat room we were given was beautiful and well maintained and spotlessly clean. The room didn't have its own private bathroom but I really enjoyed the public baths - very relaxing.

We stayed here on our way to Koyasan, the final stop of the pilgrimage.(Shikoku 88temples) I am surprised that it is 3600 yen even if you stay with how many people. We stayed with our pet. Of course, the price will not change. Takaji, the owner, is the nicest person. This place is great if you want to communicate with the local. He also welcomes you even if you don't want it. You can use the sauna and the large jacuzzi. You can see the beautiful night sky in the room. If you want, you can enjoy a special experience beyond just staying.
